We will never know probably, but I also heard that the "purse-snatching" was not an attempt at theft of valuables from a stranger as was portrayed in the press, but an attempt to retrieve something he felt was his from an acquaintance. Still a crime, of course, but a lot more understandable behavior than a senior NFL prospect trying to steal some lunch money.
