You're right, it does forbid murder. But it does allow for the killing of those who are unwilling to convert to islam, I guess I'll call that murder.

You're right, my post was incorrect and inappropriate. What I meant was that you may know a person by their actions. Jesus said "They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them."

No, my view is based on many. You doubt that Islam is a religion of hate?

    Hitler

Wow, that's out there. I hope you don't really believe that.

Christianity has a theory of just war. And it seems I've heard Christians defend the execution of criminals.

I guess there are a lot of people out there who aren't Christian then. I guess what you're trying to say is that extremists aren't representative of Christianity, and I'd say that is also true of Islam.

I doubt you've read the Koran with an open heart. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate a non-Christian making ignorant statements about Christianity, but in turn, you do the same about Islam. I don't think Jesus would condone this last statement of yours that I've quoted.

As far as Jesus not founding Christianity, I really think Red has a point. Jesus was fighting the established churches that were full of hypocrisies and corruption. I don't think Jesus was aiming to start a new establishment of churches.

I actually do. One can find hateful things in Islam, but peaceful things predominate. One can find hateful things in the Bible. And the crusaders definitely practiced a hateful Christianity.

You haven't forgotten the Christian guy who executed 6 million people because of their religious faith less than 70 years ago?

I know it to be true. Any independent koran scholar will tell you the same.

    Scholars Scrutinize the Koran's Origin

well, the dude was illiterate. didnt expect it to have been written by him. since it was passed as oral tradition for years, also expect that it was written down much later. sure it would be more believable that it came from mohammed if he wrote it down on the spot, but just because others wrote it down later doesnt mean it is not what he recited.

the earliest text of the koran was found not that long ago and was written in a very simple way. many/most of the words can be interpreted different ways--not unlike other ancient languages, but to a much greater extent.

i forgot what my point is. you win.

You're impossible. I've made my point about this several times, I'm not gonna to continue to go around in circles with you.

That's just sick. Again, I'm not going in circles. You've become too pig-headed to allow me to build on my points or you have an agenda which I'm effectively disrupting.

I agree with you on that, but I wasn't referring to the part about the koran. You can have the last word, I'm through.

You're right on several points. 1) Red gets on my nerves 2) I retracted that statement earlier in the thread

It is more than that. Parts of earlier texts have found their way into the document.

You may have made your point but you haven't been very convincing. I don't accept your point.

If you have no response, then just quit. No need to get personal.
