So was Judaism. Joshua invaded and conquered Palestine destroying cities and putting his enemies and women and children to death. Saul slew his thousands and David his tens of thousands. So was Christianity. Christian Rome conquered Europe. The Crusaders later invaded and occupied Palestine. Christian Germany committed genocide against 6 million Jews only a generation ago.
I said founded through Muhammed. Those events are after the creation of those specific religions. Muhammed himself killed people. Jesus didnt at least I havent seen any evidence of that. However, I dont want to make this a religious debate.
Nobody disputes any of this Red. The difference is that this is past tense, by thousands of years. This was last week: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/china/article4406836.ece This was yeterday: http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/world/China-on-heightened-alert-after.4358939.jp When I type in "Christian terrorist" or "Catholic terrorist", the news results do not go on for pages. Where are the marches from the "peaceful Muslims" who want to denounce these guys? Again Red, I know I'm wrong for having these suspicions that most Muslims want us to die. I'm just waiting for someone to prove me wrong.
I've heard a number of Muslims, most intelligent and kind, talk about how peaceful their religion is, but that it is also very open to interpretation; the words and lessons aren't always specific. I'm not well read on Islam, but the "submission" you are referring to is submitting yourself to the will of God, which isn't too far off what Christians believe; I don't believe it is meant to be aggressive. It does seem that Islam was founded in the midst of much fighting, but I don't know enough of the details of that fighting. I believe Christianity argues for "just wars", and I imagine the conflict at the start of Islam touches on those kinds of arguments.
Christianity has not argued for a "just war" in centuries. Again, I am talking about the present tense. Go to google news and type in "Islamic Terrorist" and see how many hits you get. How often do you see any prominent muslim distancing himself from what others do in the name of his religion? It is these reason that I look at muslims through blood covered glasses.
