As for the Bulls, a week and a half ago it looked like he was a lock for Chicago. As of a few days ago, the Bulls reportedly had Brandon Roy rated even with Thomas. We'll see, but my guess is that they will trade the pick and someone else will take Roy. Thomas could very well drop out of the top 5.[/quote] It doesn't make sense for Chicago to take a guard, Ben Gordon and Kirk Henrich can fill it up from the outside. Thomas would be a great fit, they need some tenacity and toughness down low. From what i read last week, Thomas had terrific workouts. ESPN is only toying with the picks to get some interest going, since it has been slacking the few past years.
No, I have heard of some of the gamesmanship that has been going on for years with some of these guys and on some levels I think that it's silly and pointless. I still HATE the entire process.

It seems to be the opinion of most draft "experts" that Brandon Roy is the most NBA ready player in this draft. Again, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the Bulls to take him, but maybe he could serve as a solid 7th man for them. I'm still thinking they'll trade the pick.
The Bulls GM said that if they take Roy, they would most likely run a 3 guard offense. Roy can play D against bigger players which is one of the attractive things about him...instant mismatch on the other end.
ESPN Insider for one has made it clear that he dodged a lot of workouts, but this is just b/c he feels he is going #2 to Chicago, so he feels it is pointless to work out for teams that pick after them Houston was his last workout, and rumor has it, Houston likes what they saw and may be trying hard to trade up to get him
The real issue with this is that he has yet to finish a workout for Chicago as well. I think he's had two or three workouts with them, and he's cancelled or cut them all short. Stomach flu and pulled groin.
add this to Scott Skiles bashing his players for not being tough 2-3 times a year, and you have a bad combo ESPN Insider has it like this, and I can't see it being much different: Toronto: Bargnani Chicago: Thomas Charlotte: Morrison Portland: Aldridge Atlanta: Roy Minnesota: Foye Boston: Simmons Houston: S. Williams Golden State: Gay Seattle: H. Armstrong Note that the big change in the last few days is Morrison. Jordan LOVVVVVES him b/c of his passion and killer instinct. MJ is even quoted as saying at one of the workouts, that he sees "himself" in Morrison's attitude. Also, as it is right now, Atlanta would trade Roy to Houston for S. Williams and a future 1st rounder The real winner is Golden State, b/c Rudy Gay is gonna be awesome
Thomas will be the 13th first-round NBA draft pick from LSU: 1952 -- Joe Dean, Indianapolis 1954 -- Bob Pettit, Milwaukee (2nd pick) 1970 -- Pete Maravich, Atlanta (3rd pick) 1983 -- Howard Carter, Denver 1985 -- Jerry Reynolds, Milwaukee 1986 -- John Williams, Washington 1990 -- Chris Jackson, Denver (3rd pick) 1991 -- Stanley Roberts, Orlando 1992 -- Shaquille O'Neal, Orlando (1st pick) 1993 -- Geert Hammink, Orlando 1998 -- Bobby Raymond, New York 2000 -- Stromile Swift, Vancouver (2nd pick) 2006 -- Tyrus Thomas, ???
