Keep up it says Max penalty (Meaning up to a year at the coaches discretion). There is nothing to decode it is sitting in front of you. :)

I haven't heard of any other team rules broken.

I'd like to vent a little on this topic at the risk of offending a few, my apologies in advance....

Jefferson beat some kid out in public within a few degrees of his life and let's be honest he fucking sucks as a QB.

TM7 is a heisman finalist and one of the most dynamic/explosive players in the country, burns a little weed gets thrown off and "there is more to the story".....well short of getting caught on a trip to PoundTown with Ms Miles or showering with little boys you don't send him packing.....I know I'm on the outside looking in but I had to get it off my chest.

I don't think it was Jefferson that was kicking the guy....someone was though. I think the DA realized that Jefferson wasn't the one and all charges were dropped or reduced. Jefferson pled not guilty and I fully expect his attorney to make mincemeat out of the prosecutors and the victim's testimony.

Having not read the entire thread, I want to interject one thing. Les Miles himself, during his press conference yesterday, flat out said he "complied" with this decision. He didn't MAKE the decision. The decision was made, he was then NOTIFIED of the decision, and enacted it by notifying TM.
I'm one of the biggest Les Miles kool aid drinkers around, but Les Miles didn't do anything in this situation except comply...which he had no choice but to do.

    Miles said that?

    Miles also said...

"I'll focus on the team end of it, and let those guys, as he starts to amass statistics, worry about national honors."

And..."Anytime that you finish second on the scoreboard, you remember. Our football team does."

Many people feel that there is more than a marijuana violation going on here. If it were some kind of NCAA violation like taking money from a booster, LSU would be self-reporting it by now.

I think that they key phrase is "university rules were broken". I think that it is significant that the AD made public statements in addition to the coach (institutional control?). We know that rumors of impending trouble have been circulating for months, yet even the dependable insiders would not mention what it was. Finally it should be remembered that university employees can be fired and arrested on federal charges for violating student academic privacy laws.

    Read between the lines.
