  4. It's good not to hear them chirp about a title, but the reason it's a great day (beside the fact of being a Tiger fan) is football is just one day closer. The scum will pound their chest about advancing and sweeping us in baseball, while ignoring the fact their football team isn't in the same universe as ours, that our basketball team just pounded the snot out of them, our tennis team eliminated their tails from the NCAA's.

One successful baseball season every five years doesn't make a dynasty. A one season sweep doesn't make your program best in the state. 2lame isn't the big player in-state in baseball. Popping a pisant rival with a Napoleon complex in just about everything on a regular season, however, can be classifed as dominance. LSU dominates the scum.
  5. What a web site! It's incredible. They are actually looking forward to football season! If you join that board, do you get an olive and sky blue crack pipe?
  6. i just remembered. rice is joining their conference next year. this was their last chance for at least 4 years. rice has a young team with dominant pitching. just re-signed wayne graham for 6 more years this week.

    poor weenies.

yeah thats a great site. i may have to bookmark it.
  7. Things that make you wonder......

Merely minutes after chokin', this guy is sayin', oh well, we'll be deep in the grind of the conference usa football race in 70something days.

Considering the evident importance of it all to this greenie fan, sorta tells me what the expectations really were. :bncry:
  8. Reality TV for that crew is September 4 when USM reintroduces it's defense to Lester "I Couldn't Hack It At LSU" Ricard.

I just caught the replay of the blown double play. Classic choke. From the wire accounts, the double steal gutted them. Rick Jones' teams now hold the two biggest blown CWS leads, 8-0 in 2001 v. Stanford and 7-0 today. Congratulations on joining LSU in the CWS record book.

This was their shinning moment for a while. Both Houston schools are well armed for 2006 and East Carolina should be improved as well. Hey, they can always look to the Pelican Cup (if it's still around).
  9. Don't get me wrong, I hate Tulane... absolutely DESPISE them! But I kinda feel bad for the way they choked... no, i'm lying. LSU is my team. END OF STORY. I may go to Nicholls State, but I know there is NO team in the state of Louisiana that can even come CLOSE to competing with LSU on a top-to-bottom scale, sorry to you, Northwestern Fan... Fans who have pride in their own school, are one thing, but I hate delusional in-state schools' fans. LSU is a school with a NATIONAL top ten athletic program from top-to-bottom--I'd even go as far as to say a top 5 school, how do in-states think that they can compete? Pulling for Tulane is NO different than pulling for Auburn, in my eyes. Back to the subject though, I was just plain getting SICK AND TIRED of Tulane lucking up and getting breaks... it finally caught up to them... I love it, every pitiful second of it. I bleed purple and gold, ALL THE TIME. Nothing less, EVER... I rather pull for my school when they're down than pull for the scum when they're up (which isn't often.) Screw those "I'm pulling for Louisiana.." people, they just do NOT get it. I'm an LSU Tiger fan 110%,and I'll NEVER pull for Tulane, ever...
  10. I wouldn't say that I am a delusional in-state fan. I am aware and acknowledge that LSU does have the best athletic program in the state right now. Besides Crew, I wouldn't say that NSU has any athletic program better than LSU's. I think we have had some very good success against LSU in baseball, but I don't think we are on the same level, though I do believe that the Demons are under-rated and can beat anyone on any given day.

I don't think that Tulane has a better baseball program than LSU. I do think they are catching up. I'd say from 2001-present the LSU and Tulane programs have been about even. (2 CWS trips for both, even head-to-head, 0 titles). I honestly doubt Tulane, or anyone else in the nation, will ever have a baseball program comparable to the 1990's LSU program any time soon. The talent level in college baseball has risen and there is simply way too much parity.

I don't think Tulane needs to win 5 national titles to be even with LSU's program right now. That would be like saying that LSU's football program isn't as good as Nebraska's because they haven't won 3 titles in 4 years and gone un-defeated. Is the 2000-present Tiger football program as good as the 93-98 Husker program, I don't think so. But LSU's football program is clearly better than the Huskers right now, despite not winning 3 titles in 4 years and not going un-defeated.

I doubt any in-state school will ever be able to come close to being on the same level as the Tigers. Honestly, we just don't have the money to compete on that level. I am proud of what my Demons accomplish and I do expect them to compete for a national title every year and I get just as excited come playoff time as LSU fans get come bowl time.

On the same token I think that the Tulane football program has definitely improved under Chris Scelfo and he does a great job. The Hawaii bowl victory was well earned. It wasn't on the same level as LSU's national title, but it was impressive and alot more success than many teams ever get (just ask LA Tech or E. Michigan).

Like I said, I'm not delusional. I am very much grounded in reality. I know where we stand. I don't have illusions of grandeur, I know what should and can be expected of my team.

I have the same pride and feel the same way about my Demons that many of you here feel about LSU. I pull for the Demons win or lose, same as many here. Personally I will never pull against NSU.

I honestly pull for my rivals when they don't play us. I like to see McNeese, SFA, Nicholls, and SLU all do well. I know when they do better it makes NSU stronger (and also improves our RPI).

I simply support Tulane and Nebraska when they aren't playing NSU. And if they are playing within driving distance if NSU has a bye week or is playing up North (Deleware, Iowa) then I'll probably head out to the Dome and support the Wave or head out to Indy Stadium or Texas and watch the Big Red. But I would NEVER go to a Husker or Wave game over the Demons. The only times I've missed NSU games is when I'm competing for the Demons (track, cross-country, or crew) somewhere.

Am I a Die-hard NSU fan? Hell Yes, just as much as anyone here is a die-hard LSU fan. Am I delusional fan? absolutely not.
