Fact: Lou Holtz has never played organized football. (not even high school)

"If four teams are undefeated at the end of the season, there should be a playoff. There should've been one last year. But it's decided already. I don't like it." - Tubby

Guess I'll have to reverse my stance in support of a playoff.
Can't see myself ever agreeing with that big-eared oaf. :nope:

    From Wikipedia:
"As a football player, the 5-foot-10, 150-pounder was a backup linebacker at Kent State University, graduating in 1959."

You go Tubs. His locker room observations were revealing. He cares about his players. It's too bad he lit up those cigars. I could like the guy, but as long as he's coaching an LSU! opponent, I just have to look for his smug little smirk and hate him all over again.

    Love it !!!!
I dont care what people say about Tubs, the last 2-3 years he has done nothing but be a great coach, he always says good things about LSU and was the ONLY coach not to whine about having to fly in the day of the game. Said "Those people have it worse then us"

And I just love this stuff. Good job tubs!!!!!!

He has my respect now! Auburn will probably start getting blasted right and left by the ESPN frogs, but he told the truth.

ESPN is still hated in TN thanks to the Charles Woodson Heisman fiasco. The way they constantly showed his 3 highlights over and over and over. Hell, he didn't even lead his own team in interceptions, made about two pass receptions, but that didn't stop those jerks from brain washing the rest of the media into voting for him.

By the way, guess who has the PAC 10 and Big 12 TV rights......ABC. It helps ESPN's parent company if a SEC team is not one of the chosen ones.

ESPN has done more for college football over the last 20 years than any other media outlet. College football has been pretty good for ESPN, too. I am sure ESPN's analysts are ego-driven and attempt to manipulate the public's perception to bend to their whim. BUT - If there was an SEC team that:

was on a, what, 25+ game win streak (USC)
had 2 of the most explosive offensive players in the country (USC/TX)
or was anihilating its opponents (TX) -

I am willing to bet anyone that they'd be getting tons of national respect. Even from ESPN. The fact is there is no such team in the SEC this year. UGA and BAMA are not great teams - they are good teams that are for the most part squeaking past mediocre opponents. UGA and BAMA will be losing soon enough and the cream (LSU and Auburn) will rise to the top. LSU will probably win out and play UGA for the SECCG. And if Miles puts his hat on correctly, wears the right kind of headset and can keep our players from fumbling, LSU will probably win.

Sure - AU got screwed last year - but of it was USC or Oklahoma that got left out, everyone would have said that OU or USC was screwed. The simple answer is to use the current BCS Bowl format, plus add one Championship game.

That way, last year, AU could have played USC and decided it once and for all. Or LSU could have played USC the year before that.

I understand Tubbs is pissed at the fact they did not get a shot last year, but the BCS system screwed them, not ESPN. I think Tubbs knows this.
