I agree with what most people say here. We will see what kind of OC Al Borges is next year when his senior QB and 2 incredible RBs are gone.

The OLine has been dramatically better this year. Perhaps that's because last year's OC, Hugh Nall, has been demoted back to OL coach. He can now focus exclusively on coaching the OL.
Soooo....hiring Borges leads to better OLine play and a better W/L record.

"While at UCLA from 1996-2000, the Bruins won a school-record 20 straight games between 1997 and 1998 and in both seasons, Borges was a finalist for the Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year award. He was named Football Coach Quarterly's offensive coordinator of the year in 1997.

Borges helped lead UCLA to three bowl game appearances in five seasons. His 1998 offense set school records for total offense, passing offense and points scored. His 1997 and 1998 offenses averaged 40 points a game." He coached UCLA All-American quarterback Cade McNown, was a finalist for the Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year two times and was part of national championships at Portland and Boise.

Your painfully obvious attempt to slant the truth serves to further widen the credibility opinion folks already have about you on this board. The fact is that the shifting of ACC schedules necessary to accomodate new entrants into the conference led to (a) Ga Tech moving the home-at-home series with Auburn to 2005, and (b) Clemson's request to beg out of it's contract with AU. The Citadel was one of the few available teams for backfill on such short notice. Lastly, the USC series was never booked for more than a 2 game series, but at least we had the stones to play them.

Your characterization that AU somehow "dropped" these teams shows either ignorance or bias - or both.

Probably no better than we were under like circumstances this year. We lost Mauck and the big muscles on our defensive line. Left us in a pretty tough spot.

TigerTalons, I don't think anybody is questioning your depth in this thread. Just remember you heard it here first next season when your pre-season ranking comes out and it's not quite what Auburn fans thought, because the critics will stop with the loss of your starting QB and the road schedule you have next year. So, forget the depth, trying out a new QB effects the pollsters positions more than you guys can comprehend. All of a sudden it will be well, maybe Borges was'nt that good and how can Al put it all together in his first season and this year we are getting beat?

cadillacattack, while you are posting all two of these accolades, go ahead and research your great OC's stats the last 12 years and post them for us. I read all of the Auburn threads when Tubberville hired this guy and your board was pretty upset at the hire. Why? Let's see the complete stats.
You are one of them delusional AU fans that are praising the hire now, and just can't see that you are having success because of key senior leadership along with a gravy type schedule.
    :hihi:

I was not attempting to imply that Auburn dropped GT from their schedule because of "pussiness" or anything like that. I was simply pointing out that three of your losses from last year will not be repeated because of teams not being on the schedule as well as improved play at the WR and OL positions.

I do not think USC wants to play us. I will bet that as soon as Radakovich makes a call to their AD he gets turned down. They play too many tough OOC opponents already.

How would you know about what opinion TF.com folks have of me? You are an Auburn fan.
