I'm not one to spread rumors unless the source is in my mind is legit....so in my mind this is legit, so here goes...

Neal McCready (sports writer in Mobile, also was the beat writer for AU for the past 5 years) just said on the radio that he can almost say that its a FACT that Tubby is gone....He has ties to people at and around the AU program and says its not FACT yet but says he is 99% sure that Tubby is gone and Bobby Petrino will be his replacement...He also said it won't be announced by the University until after Thanksgiving but expect it to leak out over the next couple of days.

I listen to McCready everyday and he is not a rumor guy...

take it for what its worth......time will tell!!!

it is on ESPN.com as well from Ivan Maisel. he says the university decided before the game, but they are afraid they will look like jackasses now since he beat Bama.

Why would they look like jackasses after he beat Bama? Bama is a 4 and 8 football team. To paraphrase Austin Powers, "They're like the village bicycle; everyone's had a ride."

    Auburn would rather beat a 0-11 Bama than a 11-0 LSU...thats why

The big money boosters at Auburn are completely out of control, so much so that they have the entire university and athletic dept. cowering under the desks. I think Auburn fudged up when they fired Bowden. They will also fudge up when they fire Tubby. For all the crap we pitch about Tubby, he is a pretty good coach. And it's not like he had a losing season; he went 7-5, with three of those losses to Top 10 teams. The only bad loss was to Georgia Tech. I know Auburn fans are disappointed, but many people saw this coming; expectations were WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too high coming into this season. I don't care if you have the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in your backfield, when you have Jason Campbell at quarterback and an average pass defense, that is really putting all of your eggs in one basket. And what I thought would happen did happen; Campbell was not enough of a quarterback to take the pressure off of the running game and LSU, Ole Miss, USC, and Georgia ate Auburn up in the passing game.

Auburn fans want somebody to blame for this year's disappointing season? Blame the national media, for pumping up what was, in my opinion, an okay but not great team and setting up the War Eagle Nation to be disappointed. Tuberville did the best he could with what he had. Perhaps he should fire his offensive coordinator. He definitely needs to go out and recruit a quarterback. But he's been at Auburn for five years now and has done a pretty decent job. If the boosters want better, then maybe THEY should coach the team. They'll find it ain't as easy to win ten games as they think it is.

I don't see Auburn laying out almost $4 million in buyout cash to get rid of a coach with a winning record. Who says they can find somebody better? The top tier coaches already have jobs and wouldn't likely want to go to the soap opera at Auburn. Talk about politics!

LSU went through Archer, Hallman, and Dinardo before they found a keeper. Every coaching change screwed up recruiting for 2 years. It was a lost decade. Auburn should learn by this. The coaching merry-go-round buys you a lot of losing seasons.

Someone posted an interesting article last week about Tubberville... basically if he had turned down the Auburn job and waited for the DiNardo firing, he'd probably be LSU's coach right now... and that it would have been a better fit for him.

Not saying I agree with the article, but it was interesting. I was not impressed initially with the Saban hiring, because I didn't know a thing about him. Now I'm really glad we have him! :D

Chill out dude. Jeffinbama attributed his post to Finebaum. If you have a problem with the veracity of the report get after bald Paul.

I am not big on rumor or innuendo either and thanks Saban fan as I thought that is just what I did was present facts that I heard on the radio. These are the same facts that were reported on the radio in Mobile as I have just read.

I have a very good source in the booster and I do know what kind of money he contributes. I was more interested in the "rumor" that was involving Jimbo Fisher.

This whole scenario has been going on for a couple of weeks. Now that they beat bama, tubbs is trying to save his job. I wish I could get fired and get 4 million dollars.. Nice contract negotiations Auburn. Where in the hell did they think that Tubbs was going to go??

This whole situation at Auburn is a joke. They are spinning out control where their athletic program is run by a control freak dictator! Thank goodness we don't have that problem here. If any Auburn fans think this isn't the case, they need to get a grip.

As Joe Friday once said auforever... just the facts mam.

You might want to check your own inventory of jackasses on your board of trustees before you start your name calling here AUforever. I am not a bammer either.

    GEAUX TIGERS!!

He saw the "inbama" in your name and went ballistic. There were several posts on the subject and he didn't freak until yours. That is some rivalry. Right now, I'd rather be a Bama Fan than an Auburn fan. The core is overheated and a meltdown is imminent.
