Y'all should give a little credit to Ga Tech. They have some talent, and Chan Gailey's back is against the wall, so I'm not too shocked they came away with the win here.
Classy post, PT. Your name says it all. Every team has bad days, ask Oklahoma and Boise St. What they do from here will determine in a large extent how they handle adversity in life. (...ok, maybe getting too deep with the football is life thing...thanks coach!) Auburn WILL bounce back. Keep your head up! :laflagwav
they will go 7-4 or 8-3. They are not that bad. Yes they looked it at times last night but they will get better.
Same Feelings, We heard from my last unaccounted for relative on Saturday. Everyone is safe, lost 2 houses (people make the home, and we still have that!!) After that, well, the game was anticlimatic. Watched a lot of kids play hard and they lost a game. Seems like everyone can't be happy unless they find someone to blame. Can't say that I am proud of that. The team will grow up and improve over the year. And they still may lose another game or 2 or 3. I have walked out of JH with tears in my eyes from victories and losses. I always said the same thing, "It's Great To Be An Auburn Tiger!" Those Bengals on this board ain't so bad either.
8-3 Auburn isn't a great team this year. Losses to GT, LSU, and Georgia. I think they still have it in them to beat Bama no matter what. Arkansas will be a bigger challange than they will expect, but will still win. Auburn finishes 2nd in the West.
My prediction at the beginning of the year was 9-2. With the losses coming from 2 of the following: LSU, Georgia, Alabama. I must revise this prediction to 8-3. I still believe we only lose to 2 of those three, but now there is an extra loss. We will be ok...its very disapointing to be beaten by a team like Tech, but it allowed our team a great test before SEC play starts. Brandon Cox looked pretty good most of the game, but made typical mistakes you would expect from somebody starting their first game. Our recievers look great, and Cox will learn how to get the ball to each one of them. Defense had an awful first quarter, but settled down and didn't allow Ga Tech very much after that. What they did give up was because of the awful field position they were stuck in after Cox interceptions. Linebackers are good, D-line is still good. David Irons was supposed to be the new Carlos Rogers...and Pitts/Lee be the other ok corner. Turns out Irons couldn't stop Calvin Johnson and Pitts was put in at the #1 corner spot and played well. Hopefully Irons can get his stuff straightened out...or else I am seriously worried about pass defense. I am worried about our offensive line, and as a result, running game. The running backs are good. Not great (read: NOT carnell and ronnie), but good. The line was supposed to be a huge strength that made the running backs look good...but it didnt happen. Hopefully they can get it together by next week. Time shall tell.
The Aubarn defense sure is still a solid unit, as evidenced yesterday. It won't take much improvement from the qb for Aubarn to be able to stay in, and even win, some big games.
looked to me that you guys are weak at RB and QB. your defense is still pretty good, but Georgia Tech outplayed ya'll and confused your, excuse me for saying, crappy QB. you guys might be in the same boat LSU was in last year with the QB position.
