You can rant about your hates and prejudices all you want. I just point out when you are flat-out lying.
One thing I am known for in my life is being too honest. So if you think what I said is a lie you don't know me at all. I meant every single word of it. How is making my opinion and beliefs a lie. Sit on your high throne and you be the deciding factor in the world of the truth tellers. But that's not a world I want to live in. You have already misjudged me.
You are entitled to you own beliefs but not your own facts. You were wrong about the cotton and a whole lot more. If you don't like your politics being disputed, Free Speech Alley ain't the place to post.
you can disagree with someone without calling them a liar. Those are the people generally losing the argument and resort to name calling and insults. The reason we have to export the cotton we do grow red is because their is no textile industry left here to buy it. Like your tag line says don't let facts get in your way . I could have ended with a insult like braniac or liar like you have done to me. But I am just here to discuss. I try not to make it personal just exchange of ideas. But I can throw insulting names if that makes you feel better. Judging by your posts it does. And I got thick enough skin to handle anything you can throw at me. So let me have it red I can take it. But I can dish out as good as I get and I am one stubborn sob when I want to be.
Pancho, you have been disparaging "people like you" for several days. You berate me for a "liberal" for daring to disagree with you. Don't dish it out if you can't take it in FSA. We debate politics here and it ain't a tea party. It is very simple. You said "We don't even have cotton as a crop anymore." So I pointed out that the US is the biggest cotton exporter in the friggin' world. Facts are something you are very free and loose with and you will learn that I will blow up lies and disinformation. It's what I do. Glad to hear it because it ain't personal. I get along fine with all but a couple of my sparring partners around here, but none of us pull a lot of punches. I prefer cutting wit than bludgeoning with insults or the relentless mocking and jeering practiced by a few nimrods you will become familiar with. But we do joust here, Sir Lancelot. Did I mention that I am also a snide remarker? And let me make it clear that if I care to argue with you, then I am taking you seriously. At which point I will relentlessly attack your arguments with all of the facts and logic that I can muster. That doesn't mean that I am attacking you, although we will all characterize each other in less than flattering terms from time to time. I will call a lie a lie if I know I can prove it. Only rarely will I call some individual a liar. He may only be repeating a lie. It is the lie that I assault. But if someone willfully lies in a debate, I will point it out. So now . . . I will "dish it out" at your request. The cotton production thing was a simple untruth and I corrected it. I am still willing to discuss your other opinions about cotton if my own are at odds. The global market evolves and the American economy has moved a long way since the Civil War, in fact a long way since WWII. We are efficient producers of agricultural products like cotton, but we are no longer an efficient producer of manufactured clothing. That business has gone to Mexico and China who buy most of our cotton. Not all change is bad. We are making money on this arrangement and we would be losing money trying to protect outdated US clothing industries. We cannot and should not be trying to compete for labor-intensive jobs with the third world. It's their niche in the global economy. Ours is to innovate and develop technology, exploit natural resources effectively, and make money. What exactly is your issue with the way the cotton industry has evolved? I also took exception to your free and loose usage of the word "traitor" in describing the President. I realize that it is probably just hyperbole and rhetoric for political reasons, but it is technically not true. I challenge you to support this accusation with any Obama action that you consider to be treasonable. If you were not serious, then say so and we can move on. And finally I disagree wholeheartedly with your notion that the US is weaker and is not respected internationally. I listed a bunch of reasons which suggest that this is not true. You have not addressed them. Again I ask you, what concrete examples can you give to imagine that our vast number of allies and friendly trading partners have lost respect for the worlds only Superpower? Or for its President. I await your responses. We can keep it on a logical analysis and cynical observation basis like I often do with Winston and VBall. Or you can go with the political diatribes laced with preposterous phony facts that I will slash and burn with relish, as I often do with 123 and BengalB. Or you can malign, denigrate, taunt and ridicule all ideas and people that you disapprove of and I will reciprocate with the same . . . only with more style. Ask Shane about that. I ain't hard to get along with. I am damned difficult to debate with. Otherwise it is no fun at all.
I just wish I had the time that @red55 puts into his posts. Agree or disagree, he puts in the research and FSA is better for it.
Multi-tasking, amigo. My job, my business, and some of my personal interests keep me in front of a computer for hours every day. I have a big monitor and I usually keep TF open in a window somewhere and I can go there for a quick break between processes and duties. It keeps the everyday work from being so tedious. But when I'm on the move and away from a computer, you won't hear from me. I almost never login from my iPhone or iPad.
I'll be happy to tell you why, friend. Ronald Reagan shipped the entire steel industry overseas. So thank your conservative hero for that and quit trying to blame it on liberals. The deficit has been cut in half, or more, since Obama has been in office. GWB expanded Medicare during his time in office and started a war in Iraq without a strategy that has cost us nearly two trillion dollars and lowered taxes so much that we couldn't possibly pay our bills. Previous to him Ronald Reagan increased our national debt two fold during his time in office in the name of winning the Cold War. Say again which President is responsible for increasing our national debt? Obama has issued fewer executive orders than any other modern Presidents. To date I believe Obama has issued about 210. GWB issued 291 during his time in office. FDR issued 3,522. Reagan issued 320.
