I agree compromise can be good if it result in something positive. Sadly with todays democrats compromise means swinging so far left it goes against everything that this country represents. The dems have cleverly pushed the so called center so far to the left just believing in the second amendment makes you a heil Hitler loving racists white supremacist in their view. Open your eyes buddy. They are anti capitalist, pro socialist, anti white and will try to control every freaking aspect of your life if given the power to do so. They simple can't exist with the US Constitution and get what they desire. For Gods sake run away from that party.

So what about your on the tax cuts and tariffs. Would love to tangle on this.

I have supporting data on my side. Its very clear and objective.

I dont really care about deficits. US economy is heavily leveraged and has been far before Trump. Its not a problem ANY president will ever fix and frankly, unwise. To have stacks of cash as the US government would be financially stupid.

I mean, if you are looking for a trend, you explain to me the drastic changes:

The tax cuts diminished? What happened to them? Were the taxes raised incrementally back to what they were?

Nothing has happened to them. Nothing at all.

At least we agree on something....it's a start

And many of them would say that compromising with todays Republican party means swinging so far right that it goes against everything that this country represents. Compromise, just like tolerance and respect, is a two-way street. I don't care for the far left of the democratic party any more than I do for the far right of the republican party because neither of them have the best interest of this country in mind, just their own agenda.

There is an element of the democratic party that would like to see the second amendment repealed. They've been quite clear about that but it will never happen. Too many of my liberal friends are gun owners and would never give them up, including me. But there is also an element of the republican party who are white supremacists. Does that mean every one of you are? Of course not. In fact, I would guess it's a much smaller element than most liberals think but they are one of the loudest so it makes them seem more prevalent than they really are. Same for the left and gun control. Both are used by their own media to scare the other side and demonize them.

Again, you are basing your opinion of all democrats off of the stereotype of a select few. There are indeed those who fit this bill. I'd be a fool not to say so. That said, and just as I said above, the right also has their own crazies. These are smaller elements than you think but they often have the loudest voices and that is unfortunate.

Great! It's why I started this thread.

Wow! What a reversal! I just posted 3 of your posts from June 7, 2012 on a thread called Obama Will Not Win where you were clearly concerned about the deficit. I found those at a glance so I'm sure there is a treasure trove of them. Since your comment above is clear that the US government is heavily leveraged and has been far before Trump, that must have been true under Obama. What changed?

this is a graphic related to the debt, not the deficit. we are talking about the deficit. we can talk about how that influences the debt if you'd like.

Here are just a few articles that articulate, better than I, how the tax cut had virtually no effect on the economy and any gains were subsumed beneath his trade war with China and made null and void by the fact that they literally doubled the budget deficit in only 2 years.
