Not saying Trump is Hitler. But, study Germany pre WWII violence against an atypical candidate that was addressing the base fears of the populace.. Next thing you know...... This whole election cycle is now focused on the lowest level of the hierarchy of needs of the voters, those being safety and fear. My hatred of Hilliary is well known. I think Trump is a joke. Hobson's choice. But, I am afraid scenes of essentially urban terrorism from Chicago will be enough to put him over the top. If it happens again or, two for sure. I would pay zero attention to the polls. People will say anything, but do something entirely different when backed into a corner. If the question is really who will make "me" safer, again, basic needs, I am afraid Trump wins in a cakewalk. OBTW, the "me" above is rhetorical, I have no intention of taking part in this mess. Then, when Trump wins, like in Germany, those outside his worldview should be afraid, very afraid. Bone up on the final days of the Weimar Republic..might come in handy. My "burning question" in all Euro History classes, left unanswered, was always, But why didn't the smart Germans stop him?" For the dim: One more I am neither for Trump nor am I am comparing his policies to Hitler. Just drawing parallels on how a rather unknown politician capitalized on violence during stressful times. @HalloweenRun Get 'em outta here. Halloween, if the protests of the last couple of years hasn't scared you, this will be a cakewalk. You realize all turmoil over the "Hands up don't shoot" lie? People wanting to hang Zimmerman right out of the gate? Then the president's injecting, "If I had a son?" So many.
You must have read several of my comments on the WAPO today. Cited both those examples. I think the intelligent uber liberals, and there are certainly some, are beginning to understand this. I have watched headlines change throughout the day recently. The "elite" are running scared.
