Unless you are one of those people who have to have the latest and greatest you are overpaying. When I used to have contracts with the carrier I would get a new phone for free every 2 years for renewing. It was always the model just behind the newest one. Now I just buy an unlocked phone and stick my sim card in it.

Fair point but population trends ebb and flow like anything else so 10 years from now I could be saying the same thing about Florida or Texas. Think about this....Ronald Reagan was the governor of California and he won it both times and George HW Bush won it in 1988. Things change. There are good arguments for both sides of this argument but as I said in my previous post I don't see that happening nor would I necessarily advocate for it right now. If it ever got to a point that it severely hampered the clear will of the people I would favor looking into changing it. For example, if we ever reached a point that 2/3 of the population were voting one way but the EC was negating that clear majority, I would be more inclined to favor the change. I don't see that happening in our life times.

It's happened 5 times, twice recently and I see the EC as being easily rigged in the new big data gerrymandering atmosphere. There is nothing about the current presidential election I like much. I don't think my vote has ever counted on a presidential election but once.

I've actually still registered Republican. I guess I should clarify a bit because my statement was a bit misleading in haste.

I stopped voting for Republican presidential candidates since Bush Jr. Second term. My vote has not counted since being in Texas and switching parties. Before that the person I voted for usually lost but my vote did count in the EC I guess

Until this past election I have always voted Republican locally. I'm done with Republicans for a while until the party comes back to the center. I'm former military so I tend to be centrist with some left leaning although I do get called a liberal more than I like.

I hate government waste, I don't think small government is a thing anymore

Yes I am a geek, so I tend to by latest and greatest. But I usually have about 5 or so phones laying around of different types. I write mobile apps from time to time so not a normal user. My cell phone bill is crazy.

I work at home and my cellphone is my backup internet connection, sort of pissed that the 5g version of the S10 is coming out later in 2019. I skipped the new phone last year so in desperate need of a new one.

“Democrats are calling for responsible leadership. Most Republicans are as well as it pertains to Syria. Sure, I'd love to see us get out of the middle east but we should do so responsibly, not as a knee jerk reaction. Trump was all set to sign the bill passed by the Senate (unanimously) and the House (still Republican) until Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter started bashing him and he took a call from Erdogan, the leader of Turkey, who wanted us out so he can slaughter the Kurds. Further, if you think Trump is so dovish on the military then why has he ramped up military spending at the expense of our expanding debt and deficit? Why does he brag about his military build up? “

Trump ran on pulling out and asked Mattis for a plan early 18. Never got one.

    It wasn’t kneee jerk.
