I'm fine with parents making the decision for either religious reasons or future health reasons. Mutilation is a pejorative term. The purpose of the procedure is not to permanently disfigure.
Parents should not have a right to mutilate a child for religious reasons. Not in an 'enlightened society. Germany's court ruling had it right. "fundamental right of the child to bodily integrity outweighed the fundamental rights of the parents". And forget about the absurdity of health reasons. In Europe, where it's quite rate except for muslims and jews there is no crisis of male dick diseases and issues. (It's hard to beat the steamrolling logic of evolution) Beyond that, would you be okay with parents cutting out baby girls mammary glands to reduce their risk of breast cancer later in life? Circumcision started as an excuse for a bunch of old religious perverts to play play with boys dicks. It's one of the most preposterous things in the world today.
We don't live in Germany. We don't have a "crisis" of male diseases and issues involving male genitalia either. However, a cut penis has less risk for all kinds of things including UTI's, STD contraction, and cancer. Does it make sense to only make decisions that help to avoid a crisis? Of course not. Mammary glands provide breast milk to newborns, clearly a mitigating factor compared to any percentage risk. Not to mention the obvious comparison of looks alone. It could be argued that a cut penis looks better whereas a female with removed breasts does not. It's not a good comparison anyway. Don't really care how it started. I disagree with your assessment but by all means, when it's your kids, it's your choice.
Yeah, so does a circumcised vagina and excised mammary glands. Both of which are really not 'necessary'. And there's conclusive proof that a circumcised dick has significant less sensation. And the risk reduction are minimal bullshit anyway, trying to justify an old perverted religious practice. I'm grateful that my father had the good sense to recognize an old religious mutilation practice for what it was, and not subject any of his sons to it.
Good for your dad. I'm sure all dads make decisions they believe to be in their own son's best interests.
Then thank gawd mine was cut. I cannot imagine how much more trouble Imight have gotten into had it had any more. You have an anteater brah?
Okay, we can passionately disagree on Trump, politics, border security, and circumcision but at least there's some things that we can all agree on: 1) Chuck E. Cheese restaurants are a disgusting concept and their popularity is evidence that we live in a simulation. The cofounder of Atari, Nolan Bushnell started this restaurant chain....he originally wanted to call it "Rick Rat's Pizza" ....think about that....Do some base reality humans 'plug in' to our simulation?
