Not true. In NY it is up to the DA as to whether exculpatory evidence is allowed in the Grand Jury process. In this case Trump was very public ally invited to testify on his own behalf with counsel present and Robert Costello was also allowed to testify, both of which would allow exculpatory evidence.
the charges against Trump in the indictment make no mention of campaign violations. There are 34 felony charges for business fraud. The evidence is in his accounting and really only relies on witness testimony to prove that his practices were in furtherance of another crime, which would be to cover up the negative attention he would have received otherwise.
I suspect he will be indicted in Georgia too but his greatest legal exposure is from the Seconal counsel, Jack Smith IMO.
