As President he does have unlimited power to declassify. There is, however, a process following his decision to archive the declassified materials and notify the departments and bureaus effected by the declassification. It says so in the Supreme Court decision that you two like to quote so much. Further, those powers do not follow the President after he is out of office. IF Trump declassified any materials there should be an account of it and there is none. Magically all the documents yes he declassified before leaving office were archived except this one. Hmm….but here is the kicker….you ready? this case has absolutely nothing at all to do with classification. NADA…zero. So all of this argument is completely moot. That is why his attorneys, nor the talking heads, nor Republican congressmen and women are claiming that classification matters at all. So you can cite that Supreme Court decision stomp your feet and say it was all declassified but it will never matter. It is irrelevant.
