Sorry but if Winston thinks replacing Trump with the likes of a Bernie or a Warren than I have to question his wanting the best for America because in MY opinion they are not at all what's best for America. Yes it's his opinion and no where have I ever said or even suggested anyone here be silenced. However I won't be silenced either. This is MY opinion which is just as valuable as Winston's. Why do you think I am trying to impose my beliefs on Winston or silence his by simply disagreeing with his and stating mine? I am in your own words "expressing my opinion in a free and open forum without fear of reprisal"
you asked if he forgot how to be an American. I was simply pointing out that being able to freely express that is the most American quality there is I didnt mention you trying to impose your beliefs, etc when I went across the pond I went for everyone, not just those I agreed with
Thanks for the kind words @kcal I find it hilarious than when I to go to the various OPs on the socialist democrats or democrat presidential candidates I’m the only one pointing out their faults and lack of fitness for office. I get likes across the board from these same people who condemn me here. It seems too many forget what it means to hold to principles and hold everyone regardless of party for the betterment of our country. Regardless I’ve decided that letting the frothing of those blinded by false faith and ignorance get to me is not worth my allowing the importance of telling the truth to slide by. In fact the more emotional they are the more I know I’m getting to them. Hopefully though I’m not optimistic some will open their eyes and see that the only way out of this mess is to demand better.
You did not ask me, but. . . . This has been my nightmare scenario since Warren started getting serious. While she has more integrity than Hillary (who doesn’t), her many policies are worse. Though I swore I would vote against Trump, regardless, there are several Dems who will call my bluff. At this point the “Hail Mary” is that Trump gets dumped, one way or the other, and Nikki Haley gets the nomination then wins in a landslide. Honestly, I could vote for Biden, Mayor Pete, Gabbard or Klobuchar, but none of the rest.
I went across the pond too but I don't ask for special rights because I did. To me it was an honor to serve and my duty to serve. I don't know Winston and my post are aimed at him as a poster on this forum not becuse we know each other in a personal way. I am sure he is a good guy but I have disdain for his views about Trump.
So as I HAVE said before there is no candidate on the democrat side I can stomach. So as Halloween Run said I’ll vote for Trump. I understand there are short term requirements but being caught with this disaster of a man as our standard bearer is a real failure. It also doesn’t mean I won’t continue to criticize Trump and anyone else as I see fit. As @kcal said we have the freedom of speech for that means. Likewise others have every right to criticize me.
Least bad of the worst. I like Pete’s character if not his policies. The other three are a little less leftist. After Trump, I believe intelligence and integrity are about as important as stated positions on issues. Positions can be moderated in negotiations, whereas character is a core trait which cannot be turned on and off. Both the Dems and the GOP have the same problem. To win the nomination, they have to take extreme positions. Positions which are near impossible to prevail in the general election. The exception here (2016) was utter reputation of Hillary.
