You mean we helped them. Otherwise they would have been overrun. We injected ourselves like we always fucking do.

Why did Trump pick the Turks over the Kurds?
To answer your question, we sent those troops there in 2015 to assist and train the Kurds in their fight against ISIS as well as coordinate air strikes against ISIS with A-10's and F-16's that were also deployed to the area.

    the Kurds

So you would let him get his ass kicked and then ask him if you were his only friend? Some buddy...

    Sure does.

You would have to ask him. I would suspect these as viable options:

    • We have Nukes in Turkey
    • They are a NATO member
    • They have valid concerns over the territory
    • It is their area
    • F-35 program

    Why?

This is all hypothetical. You know this right?

But, I wouldn't have a friend like that. That is my point!

Yes. In this hypothetical situation you created. You now have all the answers!

your question is rhetorical and none of us here should know the answer to that question because we are not privy to enough information to make an informed decision. that said, neither are you. what I am sure of is that we are abandoning our allies, the Kurds and to do so in such a precipitous manner is irresponsible and naive.

agree we helped them, as they have helped us, but since we interjected ourselves than we have a moral responsibility to see it through

Then we will be there forever. The ME is low IQ and shows no signs of improvement.

At some point, we cut our losses and move on.

i agree with this too. while no time is a good time, it seems to me that this could have been done on a timeline rather than the abrupt way in which this was done
