I hope your team is thinking this way... we have speed too, but we also have size to go with it. You'll soon see. :crystal::crystal: :miles:
Team speed is so much more than RBs Duck. Quick D Linemen and backers are much more important. As fast as your guys are they can't get to the edge if our d line hits them before they get started. We see similar speed 8 times a year and handle it.
Oregon has some fast backs to be sure, but as noted earlier, those numbers you list are highly questionable. Couchscout.com tracks 40 speeds from all teams so that they can be compared with other teams consistently. They list these speeds: James- 4.38 Barner- 4.55 Seastrunk- 4.40 Thomas- 4.68 Fast, but not sub-4.3 warp speed. And not one of them weighs 190 pounds dripping wet. How long can they take the pounding?
yeah those dudes would be the fastest guys ever in college football. and on the same team simultaneously. unofficial obviously. quite a few schools do this but some go to extreme. you can bet laduck 100:1 none of these guys will run 4.2x at the nfl combine. and probably none 4.3x. LMJ would be the only possibility.
If the D-line can keep our LB's free to run and make plays our defense should be alright. Our defensive team speed with our LB's being converted safeties will be an advantage in this game.
Ok, so its like having one 4.4 guy since they cant all carry the ball at one time. Similar to almost every team in the country.
I know there's more to team speed than RB's. My comment was regarding "getting to the corner". RB's get to the corner, not D linemen and 'backers. I know for a fact, that any of Oregon's RB's will get to the corner before one of your D linemen coming off a block. The only way a D-line guy hits a RB, is on off tackle or dive plays. Stretching it to the corner is not one of those plays. My original statement stands. Oregon has the speed to get to the edge. The previous poster was mistaken.
I hope you don't think you actually have four sub 4.3 guys on your team. FWIW I think your RBs have the speed to hit the corner, but only if they are able to run inside.
