maybe the fact that he's 5'5" is why his form doesn't seem fundamental. he's not the prototypical size. He needs to account for the fact that he has shorter legs and shorter strides, but i'm no track expert either.
You can still participate in the Olympics and be eligible for college football. Bennie Brazelle did it in the 2004 Olympics and played the next two seasons. I don't see why he wouldn't continue playing football. He seems to have a real passion for it unlike the X-man who's heart was in track the whole way.
Jury is still out but it has nothing to do with eligibility to play football also. He passed on the World Championships last year to practice in the spring. Had he competed he would have sat out last year until after the VT game. This year would be a different story if he wanted to compete in the Olympics. Holliday would be focused on training and the dates do not match up well for particpating in both. Olympics are usually a once in a lifetime opportunity. Can not blame him if he decided to sit out most of next year but he has to qualify 1st. You are right though about his passion for football and he still wants to prove to the world that a miny man like him can play with the big boys.
BTW, that is a nice picture of Early Doucet. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/09/sports/othersports/09track.html?ref=sports
