Wait a minute, nah, Trev really is stupid. No one would put their integrity as a college football analyst on the line (maybe for enough money they would) but I sure wouldnt. Would you risk being spit on by fans just to be controversial. Another reason why I think he's really dumb because the straight guy always looks at him really confused. It came against a team ranked 13th. LSU's one loss came against a ranked Florida team. One of the 3 teams was going to get screwed no matter what. I'm glad it wasn't LSU but I'm pretty damned happy that it turned out this way, especially with USC being voted #1 in both human polls. I hate the BCS as much as anybody and things like this will help to bring about a playoff system a lot faster than last year when everything worked out for them with the two best teams being the only undefeated teams. I am in favor of an 8 or 16 team true playoff but even if there had been a 4 team playoff system this year LSU, OU, USC and Michigan would all be still in the NC race. #1 OU would play #3 USC and #2 LSU would play #4 Michigan with the winners meeting for a real NC game. Like I said I hate the BCS but that is the system we have now and USC was perfectly happy with it until it came up and bit them on the ass.
Red, I am just trying to spread some semblence of reality onto the forum. Because of the BCS, there are 2 Championship games this year. Deny it all you want.....but it won't go away. Rest assured that if USC wins the Rose, they will get a really pretty trophy too and go into the record books as the AP champ. Trev Albert couldn't hold Howard Cosell's jock strap! The only reason USC is ranked #1 by the Humans is because they began the year with a higher ranking than LSU and because LSU's loss came later in the season than USC's. For whatever reason the writer's and coaches refuse to jump one good team over another unless the latter actually loses. That's the bottom line, it has little to do with who they actually think would win between the teams in question.
if we had a playoff system, they would prolly use the BCS to see who goes to the playoffs.....we would have the same controversy just a little earlier in the year......
