I expect to see Hilliard mostly in the second half when we are up two scores and running a ball-control offense. He will be fresh and will pound the increasingly tired Bama defense.
The more I think about the standard LSU run game strategy, the more I think the opposite works against Bama and it showed late in the game. Normal run-game strategy is pound up the middle first / wind'em on the edges second. But Bama's LB core is big enough to take the hammer first. Late in the game when LSU switched to the option and sweep, those big LB's started visibly slowing down. I hope LSU makes those guys run left-right for a full half and then pound em up the middle in the second.
Very true with the bowl games but I think Bama is a whole nother animal. It does make me feel better that he will probably be better than how he was in the regular season. And yes, even though he isn't that great, I still trust him more than McCarron. That dude has had the easiest job all year handing off to Trent Richardson. We showed last time that when pressured, he will fold. LSU has a history of punishing Alabama QBs.
