I think that Georgia is the TOUGHEST game on the schedule (on paper). But IMO, the Auburn game is the most IMPORTANT. My reasoning is because it will be our first road game and our first true test. No matter who is at QB, (Randall, Russell, Flynn), it will be our first view at the true talent we have. If we can get through the AU game with a "W" it will give the QB (whoever it is) and the team a huge confidence lift (much like the 1st UGA game last year). One thing about the QB controversy that I know for sure is that, with the talent that LSU has, whoever is named the starter deserved it 100%. Whether it be Randall, Russell, or Flynn I am VERY confident in next season's results. GEAUX TIGERS!!! :lsug: :champs:  lefire: :lsug: :champs:
Very good post IMO. Also, I of the tygr, just because UF has only one NC doesn't mean squat. Just look at the SEC championships they've won so I understand Sugars concern. I hope everybody isn't thinking we are going to win a bunch of these things in the next 10 years. I think when he said "since the 80's" that he meant "after" not "during".
i think ark state is since we know less of them since they were just added. we are less prepared and will take them lightly and odds are we will only win by 50 instead of 70. so this worries me... but seriously I initially thought Auburn since i was there the last time we played them in the rain and got handled with possibly the same QB for both teams and maybe a mental game for Randall if he starts. UF will be hard as usual but Zook is Zook and i think our revenge will be the factor besides the coaching. reason we lost last year was Mauck...simple as that. no way we score on offense that game if we played into sunday. he was terrible and made everyone look that way. the defense knew we werent going to score plus they were down mentally....just ill prepared. this game will be exactly opposite...sky high and pissed. LSU wins. hardest game will be UGA....richt is a good coach with great asst. coaches and great players. most talent of any team outside LSU in the conference, especially on defense. so that is my conclusion.
the barn Auburn will be tough. That is our first road game and who ever wins this game will probably win the west. I beleive Auburn will be prepared for this game, they have a new OC and they are running a west coast offense.
UGA is far and away the toughest game on the schedule. Richt will have his team ready. They return lots of players. And they have a bad taste in their mouth from when their teeth were kicked in not once but twice last season. After this year, if we continue to be successful in the West, we will continue to see UGA in the SECCG for a while. Not to take anything away from Tenn or Fla, but I think UGA is the team to beat in the East. Fla will be the second toughest game for us. Playing on the road in Fla's house is tough. It will be a 2:30 kickoff and it will be HOT. Of course, we lost some teeth in that game last year, so that will still be fresh in the minds of our vets.
I don't think that's what he meant, but if you say so.... Also, you nor anyone else has any idea how many titles LSU will win in the next 10 years. For all you know they could win 10, it's very highly unlikely, but lets not underestimate the team.
I agree. They are as overrated as Auburn. Don't get me wrong, they are a good team, but the media loves Richt. Florida State connection. I think Pollock and Green are overrated as well.
... no doubt about it. the media loves richt, also greene and pollack are overrated. pollack was a shell of himself as was greene. i was a big greene fan and thought he was just not getting time. did you see his play? dude was so slow getting rid of the ball he caused a majority on himself. indecisive and slow as hell in the pocket. i thought i was seeing things. their d will carry them early and if greene is even marginally better they will be fine by midseason.
I meant the best in the SEC. But Florida's rise certainly did start in the 80's: Final AP polls: 1983 6 1984 3 1985 5 And then from 90 to 01 they were in the top 10 10 times with 6 SEC champs(more than any other SEC team) and a NC. So I think that since the 80's they are the best team in the SEC. Since the 90's they have been the dominant SEC team. And starting in 2000 LSU is and will be the dominant SEC team. Geaux Tigers!
