Then maybe I shouldn't tell you they gotta pretty solid #2 as well.

We should be okay but I don't think it will be a picnic is all I meant.

For what it's worth, USM's reliever today had an ERA of +/-1. That didn't help them today. Our hitters aren't intimidated by anything it would appear. As good as their pitching may or may not be, they haven't faced anyone as red hot as Blake Dean...and the rest of our bats are pretty hot too. Not like OT "hawt", but still.:hihi:

However, it should be noted that...at this stage of the game, the competition is tough...this ain't Texas Southern here. Our pitching and defense (which has been particularly impressive during this run) will probably be called upon to keep this streak going. At this point, we are clicking on all cylinders at the right time, so there is nothing else we can ask of this team and coaching staff...except that they finish strong, and continue to never give up...something that they have been fantastic at lately...finishing strong.:thumb:

Gotta love these hacks. Kimmy: "Hmmmmm...let's see. LSU has won 23 in a row and are playing at home. They are hitting one through nine and their pitching has been nails for 6 weeks. They've come from behind in 17 of their 23 streak wins and their biggest bats haven't been silenced since April. Oh yeah. I'm going with the Anteaters." :dis:

I just read in the paper this morning where Gillespie came out of retirement to coach them this year. Everyone remember our battles with him and USC?

Yep, that is what I was thinking too Salty

Yep, we got good pitchers too

It would be nice though if we could just go ahead and win the first two:lol:

Well I am gonna be one fan that is just gonna believe in her team, no matter what. I am so proud of this team, they have never given up. So I am just gonna do the same, and not give up on them.

This has been a good weekend to live in the state of Mississippi too. I wore my gold baseball Jersey on Saturday and everywhere I went people was looking at me like I had two heads or something, then I washed it so I could wear it again on Sunday, same thing happened, so I am gonna wash it again and wear it today.

USM is about 35 miles or so from where I live, and you can betcha the next time I go to Hattiesburg, I will be wearing my gold baseball jersey.

Same sentiments here. I think any pitcher against this LSU team sees the words "No Respect" written all over the hitters. Their confidence and determination for playing not to lose baseball would one way or another overwelm any pitcher. LSU's got to stay cool and patient; and that's what they seem to have.

The LSU defense also has been solid. I have a feeling the team will refocus and step up for this weekend, now that they are in the Super Regionals. They surely have been an amazing and impressive bunch.

Again, if it is destiny........Omaha here we come!

yep. that has been the whole streak. they have been patient and waited to get into the others team's bullpen then taken over (when they werent ahead already.) that was a big part of the turn around. through the second game of the ga series, the late inning were melt downs. now, the late innings show their strength.

defense was what kept martin out of trouble last night. he wasnt as sharp as usual (he wasnt bad, just not his A game) but his defense backed him and got the outs.

i can still envision the j-mitch catch on saturday. was that a thing of beauty, or what!?!
