Fla has a good coach now . Felipe Franks sucks. If aranda had pressured him more and some of our db's actually knew how to tackle it would have been a different ending.

Someone said it was a lingering issue from a bad hit he took last week. I cannot confirm though.

Just wait until the UGA offensive line blows our front seven up and has their way with us even worse. If we struggled with Florida’s run game, Georgia is going to have a field day.

Wasn’t a fan of the game plan on defense by any stretch. Thought it was soft. This defense didnt get to the passer and cause mayhem the way I hope they would.

I also feel like LSU is the better team.
    A few thoughts:
    1. When we kicked the FG in the 2nd quarter to take a 10-7 lead, why didn't O challenge what was a horrible spot. That sure looked like a 1st down. We still may have ended up settling for 3, but why not challenge that?
    2. Brossette really turned it on in the 4th quarter giving LSU a 19-14 lead. The defense couldn't hold and UF came back to take the lead. On our ensuing possession, why didn't E stick with Brossette, the hot hand. That drive stalled when we absolutely needed to answer right back. I think have the sequence correct.
    3. I thought UF's running game wasn't that good. They sure gashed our D yesterday. Was part of the problem that Phillips didn't play? Also, it was frustrating as hell to see us get burned several times on that option. Hate to say it, but Aranda was outcoached.
    4. Even though we ended up putting some decent yardage, our OL was exposed.
    5. The Burrow fumble in the 1st quarter loomed large. The offense sputtered after that for a good portion of the game.
    6. The Swamp is a tough place to play for sure, but LSU could have won that game.
    7. Absolutely must bring the A-game for Georgia next week.

    Great summary, Calco!

What is it about our team(s) that requires them to take an unnecessary (and, in large part, self-inflicted) beat down by a reasonably matched opponent to make the team somehow rededicated to winning the next game? [Hint: The game we are playing right now IS the 'next' game]

Jesus H. Christ-on-a-Cracker, this is LSU! Who would not give their left nut for a chance to wear the P&G and leave it all on the field? Every. Damn. Game. How do recent High School grads come to LSU, make the team, learn their positions.....then do 60 minutes of lackluster play, not attacking, not finishing routes, etc?

Sure, there are moments of outstanding athleticism (Brossette carrying FL players on his back like fleas on a dog's back, Burrow doubling as running back when he sees the chance, our kicking game) but there are the mental/physical lapses/penalties that are hard to explain by Week Six.

The Gators are our Nemesis. Not as much as the Gumps, but still, we all know that we need to own FL, especially when we are a match (or better) in talent.

    Hanging in regardless. Geaux Tigers!

    Observations...
    1. The O line was going to catch up with LSU eventually.
    2. Think about how depleted the LB position is... No Chaisson, no Taylor, no Phillips. You had a freshman at Will and it showed.
    3. Giles is at best the #6 receiver on this team and yet he gets playing time. It almost feels like the coaches are just unwilling due to ego to admit that Giles is a failed experiment.
    4. Giles has shown a lack of skill and judgement as a PR.
    5. Formation was an obvious tell yesterday. LSU ran from under center and threw from the gun.
    6. LSU dials back the pressure after the first quarter. Its happened every game. The front 3 to 4 are not good enough to apply pressure without a blitz.

And to think, LSU’s Coordinators and Assistants are the highest paid in the Country.

It seems our WR’s can’t run routes, create separation, or catch. Our OL can’t protect our QB or hold blocks, and our defense can’t wrap up or tackle. How many times did Florida have the defense chasing their own tails on that same damn option play?

You’d think we’d see more in terms of return with how we pay our coaches.
