Yes he did...and it was hilarious. It was the old middle school trick of scratching your nose with your middle finger.

The degenerate fans at these tournaments would drive me nuts too though.

You're kidding, right? These guys live like royalty on The Tour. WADR, they have it made.

You want to see some patience, try following the guys on the mini-tours. I've "invested" in two different player syndicates and have had an opportunity to see what they go through first hand. It's brutal.

I remember meeting Toms at his first TPC (at Sawgrass) and he's always impressed me as a "regular guy" and blessed with an incredible amount of talent. It's great to see him doing so well after grinding his way to the top. :thumb:

Ditto, I'm pretty sure I could deal with the BS for the $ these guys make. They are treated like gods. And Tiger is an over sensitive prick everything is find as long as the crowd roar for him but a little chatter 100 yds from him on bad day and he goes ape crap. I play golf all be it not at thet level but a if little talking should not hurt your consentration. Tiger must be mentaly weak he cant focus on the task with small noises around. He is the worst on the tour with this issue.

sorry, your obvious disdain for tiger aside, you don't win 9 majors and four masters titles being 'mentally weak'.

A couple of points. Indeed today's Tour players in a sense have it made. Courtesy cars, buffets, child care, things for their spouses to do. All perks that tournaments gladly provide. On the other hand, they are the master of their own destiny. If they make the cut and make a check fine. If they miss the cut then it's wait till the next opportunity. They don't have owners paying them a salary or paying their expenses while they're on the road. None of the top 125 are starving but they have put a lot of time and effort to get to that point. As cadillacattack pointed out it's the mini tour players that deserve our respect and admiration. They define the word GRIND struggling to make it to the big time.

As far as golfers and noise there is a distinct difference. The typical background noise doesn't bother them. I've seen them play a shot with a siren blaring in the background. It's the sudden, unexpected noise like a cell phone ringing or a camera shutter clicking that get's their attention. Unfortunately Tiger's galleries tends to draw the less than knowledgeable spectators where cell phones ringing and camera shutters clicking are the norm.

hahahha funniest post of the day!

Tiger is the most mentally TOUGH person around.

You try to do something as herky jerky as golf with nearly 100,000 people watching your every move half the time.

And yeah, sure, he complains the most about it, but that is because his galleries are double everyone else's man! :)

I have no disdain for Tiger I just get tired of him crying about every little sound or movement. Talent has more to do with low scores than mental strength. He is clearly the most talented golf on the tour.

you can almost say 10 by this time...

b/c this one is becoming more and more clear...

67 shot on a day where he really didn't play all that well...

I understand what you are saying and it used to piss me off to. But I kind of understand where is coming from now. I don't know what you do for a living, but try having 100 fans, reporters, and photographers standing there with you while you do it.

You nailed it CO. When you're in the zone, almost no sound gets in. It's like you're on automatic pilot. Some of my best rounds were so "vanilla" I can barely remember them.

But when you're playing badly (unfocused), you tend to remember every detail. Wierd.
