It happened in 03 as well, didn't it? I prefer we don't rely on other teams, but I'll take it this year; Eaux deserves some credit for still being in the running for the Sugar.

 

When the final rankings came out they had it right with LSU, the bitch was about Oklahoma being taken over SC after getting their asses whooped by Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship.

 

I think we were beneficiaries of wins by Pitt and Hawaii?

 

Oeaux could be better with time to get his own system in place and a QB like Miles Brennan if he is as good as they say.

Herman is just as big of a gamble as Oeaux at this point. Maybe bigger. After all, he did lose to 3 AAF teams this season. If you can't win the AAF are you ready for the SEC West?
Fisher would have been the shoo-in safest choice but that ship has probably sailed. Giving Herman a shot might pay off but he has done nothing to justify the pay grade he now occupies.

 

Not that you're wrong about Herman but remember that he will have SEC west talent if and when he takes on the SEC west.

 

And the gumps would still beat us but you'd be paying him a gazillion guaranteed for 10 yrs, he'd have absolute control, and he'd make defense second rate. Bizzaro Milesball.
