Herman may be scared of SEC football and that's why he wants to stay in a league with no defense. He won't be ringing the scoreboard like a pinball machine here. We have NFL light defense here with speed and size at every position. We only need someone who can plan around those defenses to score some points. We still will have to run the ball and stop the run to win championships. Bama has adjusted but the two things they do best are stop running teams and power run when they need too. They do this by controlling the LOS which is what we have to get better at. Finesse teams rarely beat physical ones and the SEC is usually physical from top to bottom. As of late this hasn't been the case but it's a down year. I truly believe Urban left for that exact reason. Hopefully we will use our resources with whoever ends up at HC and target some good OC and get some QBs to develop. Who would be a good fit for OC? I haven't really searched who would could lure here, especially if we keep O, we should have a pile to spend on him.
Which is why people say he needs a good OC and DC (which traditionally LSU spends money on coordinators, just Miles decided to pay a dumbass top dollar and liked to stick his finger in the pudding). There is value to what Eaux brings. You need more than brains to lead men.
