you find your guy and you pay him.

I dont disagree with the second comment about paying your guy, but I don't think jimbo is the guy.

the first comment I dont remember this at all. I just remember that we were going to get a somewhat unknown coach, or like stacy said "non-sexy hire". "lots of people thought we were overpaying" is a little bit of a cop out. Easy to say but nothing to back it up

 

And a giant recruiting budget and virtually no cap on how many scholarships he could give out.

 

How much did we get for the sec network deal and espn.

 

Many people were saying that's too much to pay a coach. About the same number that's saying the same thing now. If he's not who you want of course it seems too much.

That's right. I was making that point. It's all Monopoly money. The same thing I said in 2000 when we hired Saban. And I was on board for that guy for the record.

 

My preference is herman, but even that lil darling has issues.
