At first glance, I would tend to agree with you. However, they have been broken into twice that I am aware of. Both times in broad daylight. they have alleys that the scum cruise looking for opportunities. They have lost numerous things out of their garage when they left the door up for 15 min or so to go inside and cool down.

They live in a nice subdivision. Seems that the crooks know to go to the nice areas to get the good stuff. I honestly am afraid of how an armed confrontation w/ him and a thief would turn out, but, he goes to the range faithfully to practice.

So then, the big question is, what side of the gun control legislation do you land on?

same here. in fact, im a much better shot than greenie. which is why no matter if he is home, the guns stay with me on my side of the bed and are considered to be mine.

and kyle, greenie used to tease me, that the best deterant to a burgler would be to put one of my targets on our front gate.

Yep. Almost all of the thugs carry guns these days and they'll be sure to have the drop on you. Carrying a pistol doesn't help if you can't pull it.

right. i dont see how carrying a gun can be a net gain in terms of safety. i can definitely see how it is a net loss in terms of hassle.

home protection is different of course, although i am not totally convinced it is worth it to have a gun at home either.

i dont feel like america has become so lawless that we need to carry guns around. seems to me more like gun-carrying is kinda for tough-guy dummies. i could be wrong though.
