Compare last week's AP and ESPN polls to this week's. With a USC route of Arizona and a convincing LSU win over Alabama, LSU picked up 5-6 votes in each poll.

I'd guess that an equally-convincing (and it needs to be, because 28-27 is not going to cut it) win over Ole Miss may---may---turn more than 5 votes our way after this weekend.

A comfortable win over Arkansas may give us an even bigger boost because it'll be over an 8-3 team that everybody knows beat Texas in Austin this year....AND it happens on national TV on a weekend during which USC is idle and the only other game on TV that afternoon is a UT-A&M blowout.

Finally, a win by any amount in the SEC CG, coupled with what should be USC's toughest game since Wash. St in Oregon St (which, hopefully, will be close), should give us another notable boost in the votes.

All I'm saying is the potential is there to pass them in one poll, more likely ESPN since I don't see national media types voting for a southern school over one based in Los Angeles.
