I was still cold after 00:00 in the 4th. Happy but cold. So were my kids. If I could have left I probably would have and I'm the one usually fussing about people who do. It was a different crowd last night. Most of the students were not there so they sold two sections of student seats. Those people sat politely in their seats and left at half time. The true fans made Tiger Stadium as loud as it could have been with 15 or so thousand.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. I have sat through games where we were thumped in Auburn in the cold (with it raining mind you), an SEC Championship back in 2005 when UGA DESTROYED us, a UGA game this year that I drove 6 hours to get to (1st game in Tiger Stadium in a couple of years) only to see us get our as*es handed to us....but there is one common thread throughout all this....I never leave until the end. I don't leave if we are up 50 or losing by 30. I am a fan. I support my team. I support my coach. I support the players that bust their as*ses all week during the season, during 2 a days when it is 100+ degress in south Louisiana, and for 60 minutes each game. I make a very good living and could "afford" tickets if I lived in Louisiana which would entitle me the right to "leave when I want." However, since I bleed purple and gold, I take the high road when I have the opportunity to attend a game now and support my Tigers until the end, win or lose! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!
they should seriously have gear kiosks on the ramps or by the concessions or something. they would have sold out of sweatshirts and jackets last night if they did.
myself and 1 other true fan held down the 403 section after everyone started leaving ... it was just as loud at the end as it was from the begining ... my throat hurts and i can barely talk but i swear that i was instrumental to that comeback ... geaux tigers
Im so phucking sick of people being called fairweather fans for leaving a game early, and you're only a TRUE fan if you stay til the very end. Or you're only a true fan if you look through purple and gold glasses and never criticize LSU. Wake the phuck up people. When I go to a game, I leave in the 4th once the game is decided either way. But if I would have been there last night in the freezing cold, i for sure would have left early. For it to take a "miraculous" comeback to beat the mighty Troy is an embarrassment. Troy doesn't belong on the same field with LSU. So I don't criticize the fans that left early. They paid for their tickets so they have the right to leave when they want, but that doesn't make them fairweather fans.
prolly not. Being that is was Troy that was kickin our ass, i would have left after Troy made it 31-3. An SEC team, i would have prolly stayed til at least the 4th. Don't get me wrong, im proud the way the boys came back. But it should have never come down to that. And I do blame the coaches for the boys not being ready to play.
Agree completely. I would have gladly volunteered to off both DC's about half way through the 2nd quarter. Anybody comeup with a good reason to give all 3 WR a 7-9 yard cushion on 3rd and 1??? When all this team did was march the length of the field with quick slants and short out in front of the DBs? Partially, yes they are to blame. I only played at the HS level, but when we met up with a team whose ass we always kicked (*cough* Morgan City *cough*) it was hard to have any intensity or enthusiasm. It's like getting psyched up to play my 3 year old in basketball. Hard to get the blood flowing enough for your A game to show up.
Yeah i said after the Bama game that LSU was gonna struggle to beat Troy. They put everything into the Bama game and to lose the way they did was terrible. But I sure didn't think it was gonna take a 31-3 come from behind victory.
LMAO. You must have played for Terrebonne or South Terrebonne or Ellender.... well not Ellender, they were everyone's bitch back in the day.
