OhioSooner, I suggest you go to my post on the article in the daily paper and read it. At least SOMEBODY on the OU side has some respect for our 2nd class coach!

You know this is funny. Its just like when we played Auburn and they all flocked over here and made fun of us, and said our team wasn't any good, and said we won't win the game. To only have LSU win 31-7. So the moral of the story is you might wanna hold your arrogant holier than thou to all of college football attitude till after the 4th so that way you won't embarrass yourself.

    Ohio Sooner...That's pretty funny...

Gerry Dinardo got fired before his last game of the 1999 season...He had gone WINLESS IN CONFERENCE THAT YEAR...He had only won his TWO non-conference games...One of which was TWENTY-EIGHT to TWENTY-ONE (28-21) over San Diego State at HOME! The other was North Texas, 52-0...Which is the same thing you say you guys were excited about back during the John Blake years...

So, we go winless, DiNardo gets axed, and we bring our real #1 QB in for our last game against Arkansas (Our #2 was playing because of political pressure from North Louisiana heavyweights), and we won in a blowout...

So, in the 1999 season, we went 3-8.

Saban's first year, we did you ONE BETTER. We went 8-4, and unlike you, who lost to Ole Miss in your Indy Bowl appearance to finish 7-5, we BEAT a higher ranked and more respected Peach Bowl Opponent with a superior defensive scheme in Georgia Tech.

In Saban's SECOND year, we went 10-3, with tough road losses to a revenge-minded (more on that one later) Tennesse, and a totally superior Florida squad. Our only other loss was quite possibly the poorest coached games I've ever witnessed, a 35-24 stinker by the Tigers against Ole Miss in which our vaunted passing attack attempted all of 20 passes-TOTAL.

We came back after that loss to win six straight, won two straight playoff games against Arkansas and Auburn to take the Western Division Title of the Conference and go to the SEC Championship game.

There, we had our record setting 1,000 yard (OK, so it was 992) rusher who scored NINETEEN TOUCHDOWNS (an SEC record) go down with an ACL tear in the 1st quarter.

Then, after that, we had our first rate gunslinger quarterback go down with an internal injury. Both obviously huge parts of our offense LOST FOR THE LAST THREE QUARTERS.

We punked out the 2nd ranked team in the nation at that time by a 31-20 count, allowing only a field goal in the 2nd half. We go on to punk out a 7th ranked Illinois team in the Sugar Bowl by a 47-34 count, and if not for a bogus holding call, and the Illini leaving their starters in, it would have been-literally-54 to 21.

Last year, we were Top 10 till our starting quarterback went down. We stumbled down the stretch with our backup...

We got hit by the injury bug...That's been the ONLY bump in the road for this team, and that was for the stretch run last season...

Trust me when I say this...Our rebuild job was MUCH tougher than yours...You have the aforementioned 7 national titles and Heisman winners, etc, to build on...We had ONE national title almost FORTY years ago to build on...

Your team won FIVE games-one win away from bowling-before Stoops' hiring.

We were one inspired season-ending victory away from being only the 2nd LSU team in school history to go WINLESS in conference. We had EIGHTEEN guys from the 1996 senior class never make it their junior year...SEVEN players out of an entire 25 man recruiting class saw it through...You telling me YOU had a tougher job?

Saban has done MUCH more than Stoops has had to do. He's also to do it facing year in, year out tough competition...We don't have a Baylor or a Kansas or a Texas Tech to take a break with...

Year in, year out, statistically, ranking-wise, and plain eye common sense wise, the SEC is a MUCH tougher conference. LSU's permanent SEC Eastern Division rival as mandated by the conference is FLORIDA. We can't rotate them off our schedule every two years.

We play them every year...We play tough teams week in and week out. No patsies like the Baylor Bears or the Kansas Jayhawks in the SEC...

Your team isn't impressive, but they are respectable. Your team isn't awe-inspiring, but they are to be treated with caution. Your team isn't one to be feared, but it is to be respected.

LSU is a team that can run the ball. You have not used the rushing game to establish any kind of ball control philosophy. You've not been challenged AT ALL in any of your contests. You don't know how to play in a hostile environment in an adverse situation.

Your team proved that it also has trouble focusing and playing with intensity or any sense of urgency with a championship on the line.

Ours, on the other hand, has shown incredible poise and focus, with every game after the Florida loss being a sudden death elimination, like a team in a double elimination tournament who lost out in the early rounds, and has been playing with reckless abandon.

Our controlled intensity and keen eyed focus hasn't wavered yet this season, and it won't on the 4th...You have much to be confident about, but you also have something to be worried about...LSU shows up with titles on the line, and OU didn't when it counted...

Blah, Blah, Blah ... OU 20, Alabama 13

That is Oklahoma's TRUE SPEED. The KSU game prooved decent defenses give White fits. Period. Next, he'll face one of the best Defenses in College FB history ...

if he survives the game without further aggravating his left shoulder, he'll have next year to try again. There's your sunshine.
