Well back to your post. I hope you guys have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. May the best team win our game and hopefully everyone stays healthy.
Saban has been the coach for four years. We have had two SEC championships, a Sugar bowl victory, and a cotton bowl appearance, along with this upcoming national championship game. Pretty similar resumes on paper, I would think.
Hey Richdog, I posted about that over on one of the OU boards when those monkeys kept throwing up their 7 nc's and 4 Heismans and belittling our entire program. For some reason, championships and traditions in other sports don't seem to count to them. Could it possibly be because they don't have any? I also reminded them of LSU's dominance over OU in overall head to head meetings but they didn't like that either. You know, like sending their sorry asses packing TWICE from the bb regionals and eliminating their softball team on almsot their home field from the WCWS and beating their basketball team when they were ranked #1. I guess it's like some millionaire who made his money in oil considering his money worth more than the million some guy made selling it at the gas station. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!! 2003 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP, GOT ONE?
Saban is not in Stoops caliber??? That is possibly the most ignorant statement ever. So that must mean that Stoops is the only coach in his caliber, because if they were others surely they would have made it to the Sugar Bowl with their team instead of Saban and the Tigers. I dont mean to be mean around the holidays but come on dude. Have you seen what this guy has done. Recruiting alone he blows Stoops out of the water. Why dont you give Saban a chance to get acclamated to a great football program like LSU and maybe he can get to a National Championship in the next few years. Oh wait, he has this year after only 4 years. Hey we are 12-1 this year too, what are you guys? Oh wait, again. Ya'll are 12-1 also. Rethink your post man.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Nah, Sooners will lay another egg. Yankee Land Grubber (Ohio Sooner, get it?), when I made the Snyder comment, I was being sarcastic. See? You said Stoops was a great coach and since Snyder's team whipped the ass of Stoops' team then he must be a better coach. See? Sarcasm. By the way, Alabama has 20 something national championships and it didn't keep them from getting bitch slapped by LSU so take your 7 NCs and Big 12 Championships (none this year of course) and admire them. But they won't be of much help on January 4th.
quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by OhioSooner I'm betting that my coach is better than your coach and that LSU wins a close one. I like Saban, he is a great coach, but not in the same caliber as Stoops. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sorry OhioSooner, Making statements like this really hurts your creditbility and makes me wonder what reality really is for you. Nick Saban has been sought after highly for 5 or 6 years for NFL jobs all over this country. When that first started your coach was a coordinater somewhere btw and Nick was also coaching in the NFL back then.
I remember Saban on The Browns staff. First of all how can someone read sarcasm in a post, I can't hear the inflection in your voice, can I? When someone posts something up it is read and deciphered as I read it, not as you meant it. That is what is hard part of throwing around some smack on these boards we are all reading everyone else's general tone. Here is what I am saying, Saban is a fantastic coach, never said he wasn't. Bobby Stoops took a program that was off everybody's radar and in 2 years won a national Championship. I mean as an OU fan, we were happy to beat North Texas, prior to Stoops. this was not just a rebuild. Jim Tressel did it at Ohio St. but that was still a team that was something. As far as credibility goes, I am not here to try to impress you all and spout off like a fool and say OU will win by 50+, not a reality. Even though all of you believe Oklahoma is not even a good football team from previous posts. The 4th will prove it all. As far total sports, you guys like to throw out all sports, I believe Sports Illustrated did an article on schools total athletic "prowess" They ranked by, and I may have this a little off, teams ranked, championships, etc. I know the top 3 was Texas, Stanford and Oklahoma. The baseball team is fair, Wrestling is outstanding, basketball is outstanding, women's softball is outstanding, gymnastics teams are fantastic. Volleyball needs some work, women's basketball was recently in the Final Four. I would say the schools are pretty identical. But what brings in the big $$$, Baseball? basketball? or Football??
My bad and merry Christmas........... How about LSU in Saban's 1st year??? Losing to UAB, Before Nick it was scary around here. What is Barry Switzer up to now days? Why didn't he go back to coaching at OU? Would OU want him back?
