I agree. Our secondary had too many missed opportunities and the coverage was not tight enough. We always gave the other guys too much room. The defensive back coach needs to correct this unless we want our young secondary to get picked apart this fall!

I never saw Cecil in HS but I did see Marcus Dupree and he is probably in the top 10 HS runningbacks. He was a manchild!

Simon played press the other 2 didn't I suspect because they were inexperienced. Plus Simon's size allows him to be physical with receivers, the Jalen's aren't that big, but as time goes on I'm sure we will see a little press coverage from them.

    Early years
Collins attended Leesville High School in Leesville in Vernon Parish in western Louisiana. There, he amassed 99 touchdowns and 7,833 yards over his high school football career including 3079 yards during his senior season. Leesville was the 4A state runner-up that year and Cecil was selected as Louisiana's very first "Mr. Football".
Collin's struggles began during his senior season at Leesville when the NCAA Clearinghouse declared that he would be required to retake his ACT Test. Cecil had taken the test during his Junior year and had not scored well enough to qualify for Division I schools. At the beginning of his Senior season he retook the exam and improved five points giving him an acceptable score. After reviewing his case however, the NCAA Clearinghouse notified his family that this improvement was unusual and that it would be necessary for him to retest. On his third attempt, Collins failed to make the required score by one point and was forced to sit out his first year at LSU.

Ford and Hilliard broke Collins' records.

    from their LSU bios:

--Ford "Broke Leesville (single-season) rushing record as a senior with 2,447 yards, topping the previous mark of 2,143 set by former LSU standout Cecil Collins in 1994"

--Hilliard "Set Louisiana High School (career rushing) record with 8,603 rushing yards during his career at Patterson"

from another site: Career Rushing Leaders, Louisiana High School Football

#1 -- 8,661 (in 3A) -- Kenny Hilliard, 2009 Gatorade Louisiana Player of the Year, 2008, 2009 and 2010 3A Offensive Most Valuable Player -- signed with LSU in 2011 under Miles

#2 -- 8,048 (in 1A) -- Germaine "Juice" Williams, 1989 Gatorade Louisiana Player of the Year, 1987 and 1989 1A Offensive Most Valuable Player -- signed with LSU in 1990 under Archer

#3 -- 7,833 (in 4A) -- Cecil Collins, 1995 Louisiana Mr. Football, 1994 and 1995 4A Offensive Most Valuable Player -- signed with LSU in 1996 under Dinardo

    #4 -- 7,594 -- Anthony Thomas -- went to Michigan, 2nd Round pick in 2001 NFL Draft

Throw Ford in that final list and that's 3 dudes from Leesville. They have had a few good ones I think it's safe to say. Speaking of the A Train, how did we miss out on him?
