I disagree, it's clearly worse,.. the moderates are being pressured to declare for one extreme or the other, the lines have hardened, the contempt has grown, no one's seeking the middle ground, compromise is becoming a dirty word to both sides

So @Kikicaca what fundamental liberal position have I taken? Dislike of Trump is a moral and ethical position not a political position. So @uscvball, @shane0911 @LSUpride123 et al what do you suggest to reverse the downward percentage of citizens who identify as conservatives? Why have we lost the popular vote the last 3 elections? Why did Reagan carry California twice yet we haven’t come close this century? Why don’t we get the percentage of the African American and Latino vote we should...I believe, no I know the conservative social fabric fits them better than the liberal democrat Godless socialist crap. Why are conservatives losing in the arena of public opinion? It seems to me too many have given up reaching out to like minded or those who could be like minded people who aren’t traditionally in our corner. We continue to look inward and have become defensive over the last few decades. This isn’t a winning strategy and if you want your children and grandchildren to have nearly the freedom we do we need to fight.....but fight smarter. We need to broaden our base to at least where it was under Reagan. We need to reach out to potential allies not reject them because they’re different or may not fall 100% inline. We need to cultivate organizations such as the Log Cabin Republicans conservative black, Latino and other race organizations. Let’s face it who wants to join a club where they’re not welcome? I believe that only by demanding the best of us to serve and demanding they serve with honor and distinction can we show we are worthy of being trusted with leadership. We must offer something better to the country not just “he’s not HRC”. I’ll say it again if you can’t hold your team to high standards then you have no place demanding that of others. Someone said in reply that whining and wringing of hands is useless......that we need to win now. I understand the point but if we blind ourselves to the future we will lose worse next time. We must build a stronger base one that becomes a majority not a bitter rump. It takes time and effort to do that and we’ve lost at least 20 years where no only are we losing vote but we’re rejecting those who may side with us more often. It’s a vital investment in the future...as vital as winning today if not more-so. Yes @uscvball and other Obama is at least divisive as Trump.....I’ve said that for 10 years. So what now? Obama ain’t running again. Yes the MSM is in the arms of the democrats and liberals lock stock and barrel. Yes schools and colleges have become increasingly liberal since Vietnam. Shouting that out in the dark does nothing to change those things. Taking your ball and going home does nothing to change these things. You want to lose the senate, the next presidential election, have the electoral college taken away? Keep it up with Trump and those who prop him up...the close minded my way or the highway attitudes.
