Average scores are 33-12. 2 of 3 opponents were ranked, one above us. What's the problem again?

The designed ball-control pound the line offensive philosophy serves several purposes. It wears down the defensive line over the course of the game. It keeps the opposing offense off the field (when was the last time the Oregon offense ran that few plays). It keeps our defense fresh and hungry. So far, it is working beautifully so why mess with a winning formula. I would like to see Les call a pass play on 3rd and goal from the 8 every now and then though. Our offensive may not be as exciting to watch as some but that is by design, not by ineptitude. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Nice perspective on the whole scenario; I think most posts are debates regarding the fans' sentiments about QB play and hence the offense's identity. It seems like now Lee has the upper hand, although I would not count out JJ's potential contributions if he rejoins the team. It would be too much of a risk to just put back JJ as the starter; why change things when things are working, or when JL is showing the hot hand?

Why break the moral of jl when he is doing better and better every game. All this kid needs is confidence, playing time , coaching to help him along and the love and support of the tiger nation. I would bet if jj would have been taught to be a receiver or tight end from the day he set foot at lsu, he would have had a chance to go to the NFL. We need to keep this identity, the pro style offense, because next year we have a potential superstar qb taking the reins.

i fully agree. it has passed him now, simply because of circumstances. my argument is that had shady's not happened we might of seen a different jj and the team been just as good. may have, may not. pure speculation either way. i have said over and over that the biggest question mark on this year, at least for me, is what kind of effect krags had on jj.

but now this is jl's team. i just dont want to throw jj under the bus and act as if he never was a true tiger, or that he would have been leading the team to a multitude of losses this year. if that makes sense.

if jj comes back, which seems doubtful to me, i would hope he could contribute. contribute, though, does not mean take over.

Agreed. The Lee ship is sailing until something changes. JJ coming in to run the Wild Tiger occasionally may be ok.

TOTAL BULL**** ... Sounds like Just us ... Not Justice!

If the whole thing's bull**** "like you say", JJ will beat it in the next two weeks and be back well in time before the Bama game ...

Maybe Les will let JJ get some backup work in the 3rd & 4th quarters in the mop up of Auburn!

Then it's two weeks to prepare for BAMA ... JJ gives the BAMA DC ****fits on his preparation ... But I don't see Miles just handing the reins back over to JJ when he beats the rap and shows back up for practice ... Get real

And ... I disagree with your assessment that LSU can't beat Bama without JJ ... they can win a smashmouth contest versus Bama!

It's a valid point, .. but .. this offense would not look the same with JJ in, because JJ is a runner. The play calling would likely be different. Ware and Ford would NOT get the opportunity to be the superstars they are turning out to be, because JJ would be keeping half the runs for himself. AND .. unless a QB focuses on becomming a good passing QB, they will never excel at it. Couldn't help but notice towards the last part of last season how even SCam Newton toned down the running to focus and showcase that he could pass the ball.

Lee will opt to pass .. or get sacked. Poor kid ... He can't run .. so he has no choice. JJ would tuck and start running at the first sign of pressure, thus missing some passing opportunities that would present themselves at the last minute.

I don't hide my bias ... I don't like running QBs. They are good in situations, but they are not team leaders. They seem to focused on being the superstar .... of it being all about them. Control, pro-style, passing QBs, ...RUN the offense. They do their job and let the other guys be the STARS.

Like I said ealier ... Mark Ingram wouldn't have gotten the Hiesman Trophy had he been coupled with a run happy QB. :miles:

Correct!! If you win by two touchdowns and the other guy couldn't score one touchdown then its not conservative - its smart football.
