Well said. Hopefully he is cleared but he has ALOT of work to do before he should be put back on the field. JL has earned this chance and has passed with flying colors so far.
Exactly, Red. Also, the offense definitely has a different feel to it this year, more of a smoother unit. I’m not calling them a well oiled machine at this point, but they seem more deliberate or something. A lot less nail biter plays. This is in no way meant to be a knock on JJ, or even a prop for Lee. Lee gets some of the credit but I think it’s mostly because of Stud and Krag. They just seem to have everyone on the same page. Sad to say, but that is new.
yep. lee is better, the offense as a whole is better, and for all we know, jj could have been a lot better too. but now, we will never really know. i am not saying he should come back and be starter. he has lost too much time and the season is too under way. but we cant say he would not have come in and led the team just as well, simply because we never had the opportunity to see the effect of krags coaching on him. a coach who, imo, has a lot to do with the improvement on lee and the rest of the offense. but the coaches believed in him, and from bhelm's post, the team believed in him. that is good enough for me to think krags just might have worked wonders with him. much more so than what armchair coaches on a forum have to say. for me, that will be the biggest question mark on the season. what effect did krags as a qb coach have on jj? it was something i was looking forward too seeing, and now, probably never will.
i knew id be hated on instantly! but we need all the help we can get this yr because im sick of our conservative low output offense and even though we beat state we had to wait until the 4th qtr to put this team away!! as ive stated in the past jjs running ability is key here as it puts tremendous pressure on a defense to cover the outside! both qbs are about the same as passers so why not have jj at least come of the bench and give defenses a new look! leave lee as a starter but have jj come in along with lee in multiple sets!! caps lock off!
they are not the same caliber passers, that's just something you have in your head. lee has proven this year that he is more capable of running a smooth offense and making critical throws than JJ ever has before. the stats and film don't lie.
Jefferson had 7 games of less than 100 yards passing. In those game his average completion % was 47.21%. His yards per attempt average in those 7 games was a measley 4.17 per. and he threw 6 INT's and 0 TD's. These numbers should speak loud and clear. The only thing Jefferson is guilty of at this point, IMO, is not being an SEC quality QB. The numbers are there, the poor play is there. I've seen it first hand. We all have. What is there to argue about??? This shouldn't even be an issue anymore. He isn't practicing. He won't even be reinstated until it's all settled legally.
