This thing looks like its going to drag out the entire season. Maybe Les doesn't have to decide either way.
Jason Campbell ring a bell? I was never sitting on the rocker in order to fall off. I just know this game. Do you know how many mediocre college QBs get a shot EVERY year, be it via-draft or free agency? JJ's athleticism alone increases his chances of getting a shot. Based on his junior year play, hell no he would never get a shot. Based on his work and the accolades he received pre-Shady's, he DEFINITELY got pro scouts attention to the point they wanted to see what he would do this year. I still don't think he'll succeed as a pro-QB, but my point is, he now may never even get a chance to try. I think it affects chemistry more NEXT year if he redshirts than it does this year if he's reinstated and plays (whether that be starting or situational play). Right now, JLee is the man, and he's doing what he needs to do to stay the man. I hope it continues. But I also hope JJ gets a chance to compete. Sue me. Wait, nevermind, don't do that... I've never said he should walk right back in as the starter. But if he's cleared he certainly deserves a chance to compete, especially if it's officially discovered he basically got screwed over. He didn't lose it on the field no more than JLee earned it on the field (before the first snap of the season). Coach's responsibility is to win, but he's also got a responsibility to his players.
We get over half way of the season before JJ's mess is over and I think JJ may not be ready to play this season even if JL has problems and we need someone else. ldskule:
it will certainly be past the halfway point. last 1/4 of the season likely. maybe suit him up for the bowl game. independence or wherever we are going.
