Lee's stats have been amazing compared to his past performances. I give Krag some credit with working with these guys. It makes one wonder how much JJ has improved also. He went to QB school over the summer. I'm not saying start him.....but it makes one wonder. We may never know.
I don't think he should be handed the job, but I don't think it's fair to assume he won't even get a chance. I realize he let Les down...but Lee was there that night too, along with numerous others, many of whom are starting with no consequence. And once it's proven that he had nothing to do with what he's accused of, then it's a given he didn't let Les down anymore than anyone else on the team did (even as QB1) who was there that night...you know, all those guys that are on the field right now with no consequence? And you're right, the stress could've made him a basketcase. It also could've made him an angry kick-he-ass machine ready to morph into Aaron Rogers. My point is, he deserves a chance to find out. Our selfish nature as fans says keep Lee in because he's winning. Les has never cared about our selfish nature.
There's a difference between injury and getting screwed by the police. Lee is also playing better than he himself has ever played as well. If Lee improved, why couldn't JJ? Many of you never wanted JJ to start, and it's showing.
Not entirely true. They had consequences--all of them--the entire team; both those present and those not even there: they ALL ran their tails off.
And let me also add, I'm not saying you take a 8-0 team and rock the boat that way. But if he's cleared this week, which I know is unlikely, but still, IF, then you're damn right he deserves a chance. Y'all are heartless.
And vice-versa, amigo. Lee has caught more fan crap that Jefferson ever did. I'm on the record as wanting Jefferson back and playing, so that means giving him a chance to take his job back. But priority number one is the team keeping on winning, not Jefferson's ego or Lee's. I just don't think Les is going to make him the starter the day he steps back on the practice field.
Don't you think Lee deserves a chance to keep starting? After all, he lost his job to injury, outplayed JJ in the limited time he had last year, stuck with LSU when he could have left for playing time at another school, and was ready and stepped up when LSU needed him this year. And don't forget, even if cleared, JJ isn't completely clean, he showed really poor judgement in the whole Shady's incident, he was supposed to be a leader. I'm not talking about being out, but when a fight broke out, he should have hauled his ass.
