there you have a great point I do believe we can use JJ in the redzone and on short yardage situations where they cannot just key on the RB.
I have the fear that jj's return will only make lee unsure and looking over his back to see if they will take away his starting role. I think it will break the rhythm of this team. I don't want to ever see jj run the option again. That's just me. Nothing personal aginst jj. I'm just sick of seeing him butcher this offense as he did last year and I'm glad we finally have a passing game without him. Lee has passed for 70+% with a td every game and one interception. I can see jj throwing an interception and costing us a game and a chance at the championship.
I think how JL reacts very much depends on what Miles does; if Miles decides to keep him as a starter, that's the vote of confidence JL needs to stay on course. He should remain confident:thumb: I like the idea of JJ used in goal line situations........
It all depends on how CLM handles it. If CLM starts mentioning the word "compete" .. as in JJ will have the opportunity to compete to get his job back, you can kiss the offense goodbye. We'll be back to the confused, switching in and out, looking for the hot hand b.S. that we had to suffer through last year. OTOH .. if CLM makes it clear that JL is the starter, and brings in JJ for situational plays, short yardage, red zone stuff, or the occassional play to throw off the D ...."sparingly" .... such that Lee keeps his confidence and contineus to grow the rhythm .... I think the offense actually adds a dimension. Dang-it ... I want the :crystal: this year .. and I don't want to get back on my BP meds, ... and come to despise my team because of the inconsistent play that was so prevalent last year. It ain't broke ... so don't break it.
I don't think we should use JJ for an entire series. Would not like breaking up Lee's flow like that. Situational substitutions only.
I dont think so. JL is a "true TEAM player" - He understands that CLM and staff will start the "Best" QB and for years he has understood that it wasnt him at that particular time for whatever particular reason. He has served his role as the #2 better than any I have witnessed. Now he is serving his role as the #1 better than any I have witnessed with this particular group of QB's. He has no reason to worry. Lee understands that if putting JJ in, in goal line situations gives this team a better chance to score & win, it is the best thing for the team, and with his track record, I dont have a doubt, that Lee is on board with it!
This teams downfall will be using jj for a~n~y~t~h~i~n~g but a backup if Mett goes down after Lee goes down.
I agree with LSU_4_LIFE....This is J Lee's time. Poor boy's been here 5 yrs. & has had very little playing time. You've got to admire him for sticking it out like he has. Frankly, I hope Jefferson never comes back. I believe J Lee is doing a damn good job, & I'm behind him 100% !!!
I agree with this as there have been some rare instances like in the MSU game where the threat of JJ running may have made them back off a bit and open up some running lanes. JL has a good arm and throws a beautiful fade to Randle in the corner but he doesn't have a cannon arm that would allow him to rifle a pass into the tighter windows present in the redzone so in those instances having a running threat at QB could make us even more efficient in the redzone. :geaux: I have faith Les Miles, Krags and Stud will figure out the best way to use JJ's talents without messing up the rhythm we have on offense :thumb:
