Jj was lost most of the time last year with exception of the cotton bowl, where he was good. Jl is completing over 70 % of his passes. He could throw for 250+ yards if miles threw the ball 40 times. I don't think jj could do the same. I personally like lsu playing pro style offense over an option offense. We have 225 lb runningbacks for that. We win a national title this year if miles doesn't Frick lee up. Leave him alone and let him play ball. Moo state gave him the confidence he needed to play qb in the sec.
I don't think the offense does as good. But then, I thought JL should have been the full time starter last year. I think he could have been as good last year if it were not for him constantly having to look over his shoulder. The way they did JL last year was almost cruel, IMO.
I totally agree. The whole "Hey, we're losing and our starting QB can't throw the ball. Come in off the bench, COLD, on 4th down and win us the game bische!" was completely jacked up and it shows just what kind of character Lee has that he was able to go in and do so well under those circumstances.
So do I, but if Jefferson returns he's going to come in really handy inside the red zone. He scored 7 rushing touchdowns last year, the record for an LSU quarterback and he can throw the short pass. He gives defenses problems on a short field. Especially if he comes in fresh in the second half against a tired defense.
Kidding I hope! JJ will likely be back soon and his return will NOT guarantee his old job back ... What is does guarantee is to give opposing defensive coordinators a case of the "grand shiddts" the week before they play LSU because they have to also prepare for JJ's running in the red zone and elsewhere in situations and downs/distance Miles Krags & Stud have no doubt discussed this and have a plan and they have gotta be "licking their chops" ... I know I would if I were coach ... The only way the JJ return is bad is if it becomes a distraction and a circus and divides the team ... Our coaches are too damned good to let that happen ... Team needs first all the way to the DOME ... LSU runs the table 14 - 0 :crystal:
I think you misunderstood my question. It's not "What to do when JJ comes back?" It's more "Would you rather have JJ as the starting QB through these 3 games at the risk of never knowing how JLee would be, or are you happy with how things worked out?"
I have to agree with Red hands down here! That is an excellent point, JJ in the Wild Tiger inside the 10 is scary in itself, even more so if General Lee just marched LSU 60+ yards down field and the defense is winded and on their heels!
