Actually, on second thought, I think with the right salesmanship we could get Tedford. Wine and dine him in BR and show him the facilities and the commitment LSU has made to football excellence (unlike Cal) and he just might leave the PAC-10. And in Saban fashion he would have one of the most talent-laden states to himself, not having to compete with USC, UCLA, and Stanford. Not sure about his buyout but I would really love to see Bertman make a hard run at Tedford.

    Top 5
    1. Norm Chow - for all of the flack I have against USC, this man is an offensive wizard, and could do well to give LSU's offense a good spark.

    2. Mike Price - seems like everyone has given up on him after the "strip club" incident, but I say time for a second chance... besides he would fit in well in La with the likes of Edwin Edwards, etc... plus look what he did with UTEP.

    3. Danny Ford - great coach at Clemson, brought them a MNC in '80, and is currently looking at a couple of schools.

    4. John L. Smith - just a great individual, maybe not an acceptable coach, but a great molder of character in his players at Mich. St.

    5. Tom Osbourne - could do well with his running game approach, but maybe his "break" has given him time to think about a better passing attack.

    Bottom 5

    1. Tommy Tubberville - have seen alot of TT's name thrown around on other boards... I would like to think that LSU has higher standards.

    2. Butch Davis - beat the hell out of a weak ass conference... very overrated.

    3. Jimbo Fischer - Although I love the guy... he is not ready to lead the Tigers.

    4. Any failed NFL coach - they will constantly be looking for the first opportunity to jump ship back the the "big boys".

    5. Any NFL Asst. Coach - they will be looking to prove themselves in order to jump in the the big boys also.

Is it just me, or do the rest of you want a good coach that would stay for a period of time like Bowden, Paterno, Stoops ( he will ), etc....

NO! I refuse to forget about the man that showed my Godson what SEC football is all about! I refuse to forget about the man that brought LSU football back to the level it should be! I refuse to forget about the man that showed me wtf an SEC battle was supposed to look like! I refuse to forget about the GOD called Nick Saban that gave me tears of joy while hoisting that crystal football! The greatest 5 years of LSU football just cannot be dismissed no matter how much it hurts to lose the man responsible.

Tuberville's name keeps popping up over and over again. Just like all the Saban to NFL rumors, it eventually happened.

I just can't imagine Tubberville to LSU rumors ever coming true...

    From The Advocate...

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Atlanta Journal Constitution on Sunday reported that a source close to Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville said Tuberville would listen if LSU wants to discuss the vacancy created Saturday when LSU coach Nick Saban agreed to coach the Miami Dolphins.

Tuberville, who will arrive in New Orleans on Tuesday for Auburn's Nokia Sugar Bowl match-up with Virginia Tech, could not be reached for comment. Neither could his agent, Jimmy Sexton, also Saban's agent.

The story said Sexton has been given the green light to listen to any overtures from LSU.

Del Rios daughter is HOT, we should hire him just to get her. Send her on recruiting trips.

If we can't get him I say we go after the Buddy System. :D just kidding

I'm learning more about Del Rio, and some of this stuff is interesting.

First, the city of Jacksonville is doing a piss poor job of supporting the team, having only sold out something like 5 of the past 16 home games. The talk of Houston sports radio this morning was of all the empty seats there yesterday, especially odd since the team was in the thick of the playoff hunt coming into Week 16.

John McClain, a long-time NFL writer, was talking off the cuff about Jacksonville and he insinuated that Del Rio has some trouble in the locker room. Specifically, they said some players "hated" him much like they hated Tom Coughlin. I assume this is because both are authoritarian types (as is Saban), etc.

Perhaps Jack is realizing being an NFL HC isn't all it's cracked up to be, understands that his coaching style may be better suited for the college ranks and understands how valuable an opportunity coaching at LSU can be.
