I have always been a Miles fan; however, although overall he has been a great coach for LSU in many respects, I still have some trouble understanding why he insisted on JJ as the starter when the offense was struggling most of the season; while keeping JL benched and only getting him in to bail out the team. I disagree with the notion that he "did take that action"; Miles had no choice with the QB. JJ would still be the starter had it not been the bar fighting incident. Maybe it's fate that JL is destined to be the starter this season. However, Miles did make a great hire in coach K which definitely helped the team. We'll never know how this offense will turn out to be had JJ started; maybe for the better or for worst If exonerated I do welcome JJ back to the team ; he will be a definite asset but not a starter, IMHO.
Let's see if this love in continues when we lose a game.... Not to be negative but it has happened before....
I will just be as proud of this team and coaching staff as everyone worked their butts off. It's a tall mountain to climb this season with so many traps along the way. Let's hope they win it all!
I'm of a mind that some of the clock management issues last year weren't entirely CLM's fault, but had to do with the confusion on the offense's part.
The only time I jumped Miles' case was that nanosecond between our loss to Tenessee and our win against Tennessee.
The only thing you need to know about Miles and his coaching ability is that we went 11-2 in the toughest division of the toughest conference in football and we had the 100+ and something ranked passing offense in the nation. Only good coaching will get you that record against some of the teams we beat with hardly any passing game at all.
That's because it was 6th grade. In high school the boob-grab penalty is higher because by then there ARE boobs to grab. At least that's the way the nuns explained it.....
Miles was always by your side- even when you saw only one set of footprints in the sand- he was carrying you.
