Y You're going to have an exodus at some key positions most likely. You're also still going to be very thin at DL and LB. You also have the QB situation which seems to be spinning in the mud and going no where fast. Add to that the fact that Miles is extremely unlikely to make any noticeable adjustments on offense and I really don't see much improvement in the near future. We will still be small.at DL and LB also unless multiple true freshmen step in and contribute heavily. That usually isn't a recipe for success in the SEC although it's not impossible.
Like you said, LSU is gonna need some really young guys to grow up fast, and some upperclassmen to play lights out. Godchaux LaCouture, Neal, Bower, Herron, and Gilmore all need to step up. Maybe Deondre Clark can move to linebacker. From what I've read Tre White wants to stay all 4 years, he'd be dumb to, considering he is 1st round pick and could be the 1st or 2nd corner taken, but if he comes back, I like the secondary. Adams will have to really step it up, and he should that guy is gonna be a good pro one day. Donte Jackson grew on me, and KT will be good too. the big question mark as usual is quarterback, as you mentioned that still doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
Barring a magic wand or some other force of nature I'm not sure how we stop Bama with those interior guys next year
2010 we scored 24, interestingly enough most came 2nd half. It was another sluggish start and then on the first drive of the 2nd half JJ hit Randle for an 80 yard TD on a skinny post. Russell Shepard had a long run, he was caught by Mark Barron if you remember. Ridley had around 80 yards rushing. Coincidentally the last time we had a tailback go for over 100 on them we lost, Jeremy Hill in 2013 ran for 107.
At what key positions are we going to have a mass exodus? I realize this may just be conjecture at this point, but I have a better feeling about this year because no one has really shined that is eligible to leave. We're not that thin at DL considering Bower, Key, Herron, La Couture, Godchaux, Neal, etc.. LB is thin, but we've never been a team to rotate LBs in and out, and we still have Beckwith, who is our best since Minter. I think Harris improves next year personally, but that's just my projection. Anything about Miles doesn't refer to talent and experience, which is what I was referring to. If your assertion is that we don't have loads of talent, then I guess you can't say that Miles is underachieving given the talent level on the field.
Thanks for that tidbit of info. Interesting we still didn't reach 20 points with our best offensive team in last few years. Mett, Landry, Beckham, Hill.
17 was what we scored in 2012. And the shitty part, had "the mad hatter" just allowed his quarterback to attempt a first down with his arm on a 3rd and 7 instead of conceding and taking the 3, LSU could have put that game away and the Yeldon play wouldn't have mattered. Lots of people blame Chavis for that loss, and he should get some blame, but Les didn't have the stones to stick the dagger in their heart.
