It's not moot for the purposes of this message board. This year there was much disagreement over whether he deserved his job back after this year. The point of this thread was to eliminate any future argument by measuring the season against goals set prior to the season. Then there would be no future argument because we could refer to his failure or success in meeting these goals. I'm now inclined to agree with @TigerSnarl because no one's done bitching and moaning about this year enough to think about actual football.
Many of us understood that Miles was out, and that did not happen. What makes you think that Peveto, and/or Cameron, are out? Cameron's contract is up, but I personally don't think even that is a definite. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Peveto and Cameron are both coaching on LSUs sideline next year. Not one bit.
No, we're in the game for championships; but that's not realistic. The best you can hope for is to remain competitive, and we're not doing that any more. That's why I think Miles should have been let go Saturday night. But he wasn't, and now the perception is that he's now untouchable. I'm just offering a possible scenario of what the line in the sand could be as we move forward from here.
Then, it will ultimately be a board decision b/c you can bet your arse that he'll be submitting the request for extension for both CCC and BDP. I think I'll just tune back in on this subject in March when the contracts are up. Until then, just conjecture.
Nick decided 4 years ago that this buffoon will never beat him again so if you like the idea of watching the SECCG on tv year in year out...
