I get what you're trying to do. And Im not being obstinate intentionally. We no longer have goals. If we cant compete for the west then its finish hopefully above .500 in the west when the bowl doesnt matter. We proved we care more about Les Miles than having a winning program. We cannot fire him now so goals are impossible to set. As long as he finishes above .500, hes untouchable. At least for 2 or 3 more seasons.
One goal ..... Win the sec West in 2016. We can worry about other stuff after we win the west. Luv les, but he underperformed this year. If he does not win the west with the talent he has coming back & with the new ones coming in, it is on him. So that's my goal for next year....I know it should have been the goal every year. But did u see all the freshmen & sophomores starting this year..... Next year is the year.
I appreciate your candor, and I hear what you are saying. I just think there are enough threads here discussing the downward trend and the dissatisfaction with Miles. It looks like most people want to win the West next year as the highest goal. I think it's a reasonable goal to hold Miles to given that it's been years since he won it. But I wouldn't be satisfied if we won the west and still dropped three games.
My goal is to be competitive and make use of 90% of the potential. Actually, thinking about it, at this point in time, my prime goal is for us not to mess up Fournette and his future..
I think you should realize that nobody in the LSU Athletic Dept measures Coach Miles's success by the metrics you've set out. MONEY is the only metric. As long as the program makes money and represents the University well, the Athletic Dept will be content.
