They do get called for holding--in bowl games with crews from less corrupt officiating conferences. And they look shocked when it happens. I also think they had Big 10 officials in Jerry World against Wisconsin, and they were called for holding some. SEC officiating is unacceptable.
Well, I know the popular refrain, but it can be heard at any school, you know. I've been watching a long time and it seems to me that we benefit from as many bad calls as we lose. And I see other teams get plenty of bad calls, too. I really wish that someone could document this, but I think it is all pretty much a wash. I agree that the SEC trails the NFL referees badly in football competence and also the Big 12 refs who are graded by NFL refs. They could be better and should be paid like NFL refs. Hell the SEC can afford to buy the bet refs out there and hold them accountable. They could be a lot more transparent in how they grade their referees and what it takes for a poor one to get replaced.
