Have I said anything like that? Man, you guys sure are defensive because a fellow Tiger fan is unhappy with the product on the field. We're almost to midseason and we still struggle with creampuffs. We may come out and blow UGA straight out the water and I'll eat my crow and give Miles all the credit in the world. Wins and losses fall on his shoulders.
Oh, I laughed out loud when I read your post. I forgot to click the emoticon  I needed a laugh too :geauxtige
Just one thing that I think everyone should hear.. this thread has about run its course.. so.. I MAY BE WRONG. The problems our beloved team is facing may be nothing more than a few tweaks away from not existing. It may just be that the interior of our OL is very weak -- but that it will only improve as time goes on. I want as much as you guys do to be that dominant team. If I'm wrong and it's NOT coaching -- my apologies. As I've stated I'll send Les Miles a freaking card with an apology on it, just remind me
Let me start by saying Im by no means calling for Miles head but there is some merit to the criticsm. To say otherwise is blind following. LSU has far too much talent to be mired in all these close games. Yes LSU is 4-0 but there is no reason weve struggled this much. LSU is a very sloppy team. Horrible play calling. Very poor time management. The team is so up and down. We have yet to put together one really good half, let alone game. The thing is this isnt just this year, we are dealing with a lot of the same problems from last year. I like Miles but a lot of the blame is on him since he is the head man. He has done very well but he seems to have become complacent since winning the title.
Our Defense stepped up today! Thank you! All 3 phases can win or lose a game. Did we see the 1st player to ever strike out a batter in the CWS then score a touchdown 4 months later??? Remind me again how many starts our QB has had in his college career?? you can only play who is on your roster, so out of the last 3 LSU QB;s, who would you rather pick????? Winning ugly is still winning. :geauxtige:geauxtige :geauxtige:geauxtige
Sometimes we just win the game instead of "blowing a team out of the water." Your expectations are unrealistic and childish.
I guess I probably come across as a blind, ever positive Miles follower. But that's not really where I stand. Let me clarify: I know the team has some serious flaws. I don't know what is causing the problems on O line, or why our plays often seem to be telegraphed to the opposing D. What I DO have is faith that CLM will identify the causes and find a way to fix them. Will he do it this year? I don't know. I know we have a lot of talent, but I also know that a lot of it is very raw. Potential is what we have in huge quantities - but unfulfilled potential is nearly a proverb. I feel sure that with time CLM will smooth out the rough edges. This team feels like one that is still learning - and that means we may see improvement one week, and a bit of backsliding the next. Another poster here reminded us that CLM is not just building for a year - he's building the program. I've been watching LSU for nearly fifty years. Maybe that's why I can take the longer view and why one or two tough games don't get me all freaked out. I think this team is one year from real GREATNESS. I'd love to see more Russell Shepard. I can't wait for the first touchdown by Reuben. I know JJ is going to be something very, very special. What did the man say? Oh yeah - "Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But soon, and for the rest of your life." It took four years between our 2003 and 2007 National Championships. A nearly complete turnover of players. If that holds true again, maybe we could expect another Championship run in 2011. Just think of the maturity we'll have in that year from all the great kids who are freshmen and sophs this year. If we're really lucky, that run could come next year. In the meantime, I do savor every victory. I bitch about the losses - and I'm sure some of those are upcoming. I hope no more than 3 of them; perhaps only two. Whatever the result of the game, I know that the sun will still come up the next morning and there will be another game on Saturday. And I'll be there, cheering for my Tigers. :geaux:
Man, I can remember when being a fan was being a fan. You show up early, hang out with some pals and drink some brews - or whatever you drink. Play some games snd talk about how the team is gonna win today. Hell, you might even talk about how the 'old times' were tough when we weren't winning. Then you'd go to the game. Either we won or we lost. When we won, we celebrated. Drink and be merry. Then we'd all talk about how great the game was. If we lost, we bitched. 'Oh man, if it wasn't for that bogus call' or ' I can't believe he dropped the ball'. But never, EVER, was it fans pretending to be ESPN analysts. Its college football. Stop ruining it with absurd threads calling for the coach's head. And bmy, pick a position. You want Les gone, or you want him here. Stop trying to play both sides of the fence
